As consumer trends change every year, this year's awards season promises to reflect real needs and celebrate truly different solutions.

In 2025, Better Choice Awards enters its third year, carrying the spirit of "Strengthening and Breaking Through", promising to continue to ignite a wave of innovation. In fact, every year, Vietnamese consumer behavior has clear shifts. From spending habits, personal needs to priorities in product selection, all change according to market, technology and social trends. Therefore, the evaluation criteria of Better Choice Awards are also being updated to keep up with reality.

On the morning of August 7, in Hanoi , at the press conference announcing the award, Mr. Pham Xuan Ha, Head of the Organizing Committee, shared: With the expectation and desire to promote a creative society, create a driving force for innovation in the units participating in the award-winning contest in particular and the social community in general, we set the criterion of "better" instead of "best" as one of the overall criteria for consideration.

Speaking at the press conference, Ms. Kim Ngoc Thanh Nga, Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center (NIC), emphasized that artificial intelligence (AI) is currently an inevitable technology trend, a technological transformation, a meaningful stage of innovation. Therefore, the organizers hope that the social community will grasp the technological values experienced in conjunction with the history of technology development.

On this occasion, the Deputy Director of the National Innovation Center also committed to accompanying, spreading, and bringing sustainable innovation values, and hoped that there would be many breakthrough solutions to help businesses, opportunities for businesses, especially technology businesses, in development, in the journey of honoring typical examples in innovation.

The organizers also informed that the first major change this year is the appearance of Consumer Finance Awards (CFA) - a new specialized category to honor initiatives in the financial sector serving consumers. In the context of digital payments, personal credit, digital banking and investment via applications becoming increasingly popular,

CFA standouts may include: a breakthrough cashless payment solution, an innovative card product, a user-friendly investment platform, or a digital banking app with an outstanding user experience.

Another notable point is that it is expected to integrate the Vietnam Mobility Festival (VMF) - a major event for car and mobile technology enthusiasts - into the framework of the Car Choice Awards (CCA). Taking place in early October, the combination of real-life experience and professional evaluation is expected to help the voting results be closer to the real needs and feelings of users.

In particular, this year, one of the main content lines will be “Strengthening with AI”, focusing on products and services applying artificial intelligence to serve Vietnamese people. Categories such as Smart Choice Awards or Innovative Choice Awards are expanded to recognize AI business models, especially “Make in Vietnam” solutions that are highly applicable and friendly to the community.

Smart Choice Awards 2025 also expands criteria such as: Vietnamese AI integration, energy-saving technology and seamless connectivity between devices, services and cloud platforms.

The Innovative Choice Awards - considered a place for bold ideas - will for the first time recognize initiatives in digital education , digital health, smart transportation or AI tools supporting small and medium enterprises. This is considered a move to better reflect the pace of innovation taking place in the Vietnamese market.

The Gala Awards event - scheduled to take place in October - will continue to invest heavily in the experience. Instead of just announcing the list of winners, the program will "retell" the journey of innovation of the products using modern performance technology combining stage effects, music, lighting and augmented reality (AR).

In addition, sideline activities such as AI Day, exhibitions or seminars are expected to create a cohesive ecosystem between businesses, consumers and technology researchers.

Better Choice Awards is a prestigious national annual award organized by VCCorp Joint Stock Company in collaboration with the National Innovation Center (NIC). With the theme "Strengthening and Breaking Through" and the consistent spirit of "Proud of Vietnam", the award affirms the spirit of overcoming all limits, promoting innovation and breaking old barriers. Better Choice Awards honors pioneering businesses and products that are creative, make a difference and serve the needs of modern consumers - towards sustainable development and practical values.
