BHG - At the forum "Ha Giang - Asia's leading regional cultural destination" held in Hanoi recently, Vice Chairman of Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee Vuong Ngoc Ha shared: "Ha Giang is a land of special values, where majestic nature blends with the unique cultural identity of ethnic minorities, where the community unites to preserve and promote the vibrant heritages of the Fatherland's border".
Ha Giang is gradually affirming its position as a national and regional destination when it is regularly listed as an ideal destination by prestigious travel magazines around the world. The New York Times (USA) has ranked Ha Giang among the most attractive destinations in the world; it was honored by the World Travel Awards (WTA) as "Asia's Leading Emerging Tourist Destination in 2023"; "Asia's Leading Regional Cultural Destination in 2024". This is both a driving force and a huge challenge for Ha Giang to transform from a poor and disadvantaged province into an advantage and driving force for socio-economic development in the border and northernmost part of the country".

At the Forum “Ha Giang - Asia's leading regional cultural destination”, experts commented: Ha Giang is becoming one of the prominent destinations, favored by international and domestic visitors thanks to its unique landscape and strong cultural identity. However, this is also a huge challenge for a natural tourist destination, especially for culture to be a product sold to tourists. Tourism digital transformation expert Nguyen Quyet Tam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of VietISO emphasized: “To stand out on global search platforms, Ha Giang needs to promote digital transformation in a systematic way; it is necessary to build a Ha Giang tourism brand identity in the digital environment, consistent and easy to identify. Develop a digital tourism ecosystem with an official information portal, integrating digital maps, AI technology, mobile apps, AR/VR experiences and online booking systems... Thereby forming a complete tourism database. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen digital communication with attractive content, train digital skills for the tourism community, connect with regional and national digital tourism platforms and use data analysis tools to optimize efficiency. When the Ha Giang brand is properly present in the digital environment, the destination will spread strongly to global tourists".
With special and deep interest, Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran shared: “Through personal experience in Ha Giang, we can implement a sustainable tourism initiative, build joint eco-tourism programs for travel lovers of both countries. Share knowledge and cooperate in marketing and branding campaigns to position Shan Tuyet tea and tourism as a premium product in the Middle East. By cooperating, we can open up new opportunities and strengthen bilateral relations”.

As for the General Director of Trang An International Tourism Company Limited (Trang An Travel), through tours in Ha Giang, he said: “The long geographical distance and inconvenient transportation are factors that prevent international tourists from choosing Ha Giang as a destination in their Vietnam tour. Therefore, the Ha Giang tourism industry needs to create large-scale, periodic festival events to attract tourists to come back many times. In addition to the festivals that have created an impression, such as: Buckwheat Flower Festival; the ripe rice season in Hoang Su Phi terraced fields; Khau Vai Phong Luu Market in Meo Vac district. Ha Giang can organize more festivals: Cherry Blossom, Peach Blossom, Plum Blossom in Spring on Dong Van Stone Plateau; Rhododendron Flower Season on Tay Con Linh Mountain of Vi Xuyen District; Moc Mien Flower Season in Meo Vac District... thereby creating opportunities for tourism businesses to build tours to attract more international tourists”.
With the contributions of experts at the forum, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Ngoc Ha also affirmed: "Ha Giang will turn difficulties and challenges into driving forces, in accordance with Resolution 08-NQ/TW of the Politburo on developing tourism into a spearhead economic sector. Strengthening transport infrastructure connectivity and attracting investment in tourism. Focusing on developing unique and distinctive tourism products, preserving and promoting the value of natural landscapes and traditional cultures of ethnic minorities. At the same time, promoting types of ecotourism, community tourism, and adventure tourism to serve the diverse needs of tourists. Committed to strictly managing tourist destinations, ensuring sustainable development and environmental protection. Continuing to train and develop high-quality human resources in the tourism industry, from tour guides, hotel staff to tourism managers, to meet the increasing needs of tourists.
