Imbued with Uncle Ho's teaching: "Emulation is patriotism, patriotism requires emulation", in recent years, the Veterans Association of Truc Ninh district has widely implemented the "Exemplary Veterans" movement. The movement has motivated cadres and members of the Veterans Association to promote the tradition and qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", actively participate in the socio-economic development front, maintain political stability, order and social security at the grassroots level.

To effectively implement the "Exemplary War Veterans" movement, the District War Veterans Association at all levels has promoted propaganda and mobilized members to be exemplary, taking the lead in implementing and implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws; linking the "Exemplary War Veterans" emulation movement with patriotic emulation movements and campaigns of the locality and the Association such as: "War Veterans compete to do good business ", "War Veterans join hands to build new rural areas (NTM), for the sake of comradeship", War Veterans with social security work, resolving policies for members...

Implementing the movement "War veterans compete to do good business", the Association at all levels coordinates with departments, branches and organizations to open training courses on science and technology, vocational training for members; review the number of poor members to have appropriate forms of support in terms of capital, plants and seeds; help members access loan sources... The Association at all levels actively encourages war veterans and former soldiers to promote the spirit of self-reliance, self-reliance, daring to think, daring to do, mobilizing all resources and assistance from local Party committees and authorities, taking advantage of the State's support policies for war veterans. The district War Veterans Association at all levels is currently entrusted to borrow capital from banking channels with a total outstanding loan of over 19.8 billion VND for thousands of loan members. In addition, the district War Veterans Association at all levels is implementing a program to lend clean water and environmental sanitation to the town area and to lend capital to those who have completed their prison terms. Through assessment, the households borrow for the right purpose, pay interest and principal on time. Loans have helped many households of War Veterans Association members develop production and business effectively, stabilize their lives, and sustainably reduce poverty. Up to now, the number of poor and near-poor members in the district has decreased, while the number of well-off and rich members has increased to 71.7%. The district currently has 10 companies and general enterprises, 20 small and medium enterprises, 13 farms, 98 households, 7 agricultural , industrial and credit cooperatives, and 7 households with traditional occupations owned by War Veterans Association members, creating jobs for hundreds of local workers, including many children of War Veterans and former soldiers.

Implementing activities "for comradeship", every year, the Association at all levels has coordinated with functional agencies to participate in reviewing and approving cadres and members to receive subsidies according to State regulations. From 2019 to present, the District Veterans Association has participated in reviewing and proposing policies for tens of thousands of cadres, members, and policy beneficiaries. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), the District Veterans Association has coordinated with functional agencies to make a list of cadres, soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers participating in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign to propose appropriate policies. The Association also coordinated with the Department of Home Affairs to adjust the new salary level for the President of the Association of War Veterans of communes and towns according to Decree No. 33/2023/ND-CP of the Government, regulations on commune-level cadres, civil servants and non-professional workers at the commune level, in villages and residential groups; reviewed and carried out procedures to request changes in health insurance card codes for cadres and members...

Along with that, every year, the District Association of War Veterans also organizes activities such as "Repaying gratitude", "Drinking water, remembering the source", lighting candles to pay tribute to heroic martyrs, visiting "red addresses", visiting and giving gifts to members in difficult circumstances, illness, serious illness... Also from 2024 to present, the District Association of War Veterans has visited and given gifts to celebrate the longevity of over 1,000 poor members and members in difficult circumstances. Caring for the health of members, the District Association coordinated with the Trung Dong Clinic to provide general examinations, consultations, and gifts to 150 members; supported 40 million VND for 2 members Hoang The Vinh, Long Phu Hamlet Association of War Veterans, Truc Cuong Commune and Truong Minh Khac, Thai Lang Village Association, Truc Noi Commune to build and repair houses. In particular, before the impact of storm No. 3 Yagi, the Association of War Veterans at all levels in the district joined hands with local Party committees and authorities to prevent and fight floods, helping people soon stabilize their lives. The district's Association of War Veterans has mobilized thousands of cadres and members to directly participate in flood and storm prevention. Responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all levels, cadres and members of the district's War Veterans Association also participated in supporting people in storm-affected areas with an amount of over 432 million VND. In addition, cadres and members of the district's War Veterans Association also actively participated in contributing to the establishment of funds: "Repaying gratitude", "Fund for the poor", "Fund for victims of Agent Orange"... From this fund, the Association at all levels has more funds to carry out solidarity activities, lend capital to members with preferential interest rates or no interest rates to develop the economy and stabilize their lives.

The highlight in implementing the emulation movement "Exemplary war veterans" of the Association of War Veterans in Truc Ninh district is that cadres and members are always active and take the lead in building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. Accordingly, the Association at all levels mobilizes children, grandchildren, relatives and people to voluntarily donate land, labor and materials to build traffic works and public welfare works; regularly maintain dozens of self-managed war veteran routes in terms of environmental sanitation and traffic safety; participate in planting 900 shade trees, timber trees and fruit trees. In addition, cadres and members of the district war veteran association also participate in the movements: "All people unite to build a cultural life", "All people protect national security"... The Association of War Veterans in Truc Ninh district is effectively maintaining hundreds of models of "self-management, self-prevention, self-protection". The whole district currently has 147 traffic safety teams, attracting the participation of 515 war veteran members; 68 news teams; 133 mediation teams; 372 “War Veterans for the People” teams, attracting 1,498 War Veterans Association members to participate; 191 security and order teams with 270 members. 100% of War Veterans Associations in communes and towns have established patrol and guard teams to coordinate in maintaining security and order, social safety, traffic safety, environmental sanitation, fire prevention and fighting, and propaganda to eliminate backward customs and superstitions.

The effective implementation of the emulation movement "Exemplary War Veterans" has helped the activities of the War Veterans Association of Truc Ninh district achieve comprehensive results. From 2019-2024, the District War Veterans Association was awarded 2 Emulation Flags and 2 Certificates of Merit by the Central Committee of the Vietnam War Veterans Association; the Provincial War Veterans Association awarded 3 Certificates of Merit; 110 collectives and 172 individuals of the District War Veterans Association were awarded at all levels... contributing to beautifying the tradition of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers", building the homeland to be increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
