The festival aims to promote the tourism potential and advantages and investment attraction policies of Lang Son province in tourism development in general, and promote the tourism potential and advantages of Huu Lung district.
With the theme “Dong Lam - Green Grassland,” the 2024 Dong Lam Grassland Festival (Lang Son province) is expected to take place from October 25-26, 2024.
According to the Plan for organizing the Dong Lam Grassland Festival in 2024 issued by the People's Committee of Huu Lung district, Lang Son province, the festival will be held at Dong Lam scenic relics, Nong Dung lake, Huu Lien commune, Huu Lung district, Lang Son province; Huu Lien community cultural tourism village, Yen Thinh commune and tourist attractions in Huu Lung district.
The festival aims to promote and introduce the potential, advantages of tourism and investment attraction policies of Lang Son province in developing tourism in general, community tourism, eco-tourism, spiritual tourism, experiential tourism in Huu Lung district with unique and distinctive cultural space, contributing to preserving culture, promoting the potential and advantages of tourism in Huu Lung district.
Thereby, gradually turning the Festival into a unique tourism product with the highlight being cultural-sports-tourism activities, traditional cultural and artistic exchanges, serving the sightseeing and entertainment needs of local people, as well as attracting domestic and international tourists to Huu Lung in particular and Lang Son province in general.
Coming to the Festival, visitors will experience unique tourism products that few places have. Visitors can participate in the production processes of tourism products, learn about indigenous culture, admire the beautiful scenery of Dong Lam grassland with vast green grasslands and herds of horses and goats leisurely grazing.
In the middle of the steppe are clear streams flowing across, originating from deep in the mountains and ending in beautiful lakes.
In addition, at the Festival there are also activities to display and introduce cultural space, beliefs, traditional costumes, jewelry, labor tools, production, traditional crafts, cultural knowledge of Cao Lan ethnic group, Ngo Tro Festival, Then singing and Tinh lute performances... of ethnic groups such as Dao, Kinh, Tay, Nung, Cao Lan, experience health care with traditional medicine of Dao Huu Lien ethnic group.
Dong Lam grassland is also known by many people as Huu Lien grassland, currently located in Huu Lien commune, Huu Lung, Lang Son. This destination is only about 25km from Lang Son city center and 130km north of Hanoi capital.
The total area of the steppe is about 100 hectares, possessing many poetic and rare landscapes.
Visitors to the steppe will be impressed by the vast green grasslands. In the middle are clear streams flowing across, originating from deep mountains and ending in beautiful lakes.
Surrounding the field are majestic mountain ranges, creating a natural picture that captivates visitors when coming to Dong Lam grassland.
Because the weather in Dong Lam grassland is divided into two seasons: rainy season and dry season, visitors can organize activities to suit the weather conditions.
In the dry season, visitors will be strongly impressed by the vast, green grasslands as beautiful as a painting, stretching out and surrounded by attractive undulating limestone mountains.
This is a great time to go mountain climbing, cave exploring or hiking, cycling to explore nature or experience the feeling of camping outdoors, cooking and stargazing at night.
On the steppe there is also a large, clear lake where visitors can raft or soak in the clear water and let themselves go in the gentle waves to feel the wonderful refreshment and relaxation here.
From July to October every year is the rainy season, at this time the whole Dong Lam land is submerged in water. Tourists can freely row rafts, kayaks at Dong Lam lake or Nong Dung lake not far from the grassland area. The moment of letting yourself drift along the clear blue water helps you forget the fatigue and noise of the city.
In addition to the beautiful natural mountain scenery, if you want to learn more about the culture and life of the ethnic minorities here, visitors can visit two tourist villages Ben and Coc about 3km from Dong Lam.
Visitors will be able to participate in experiential activities such as visiting the 4-roofed stilt house with yin-yang tiles of the Dao and Tay ethnic groups, learning how to make rice paper, enjoying special dishes and cultural exchanges with friendly and extremely lovely people.
