According to the independent box office statistics website Box Office Vietnam, as of 6 p.m. on May 11, Lat Mat 8: Vong Tay Nang had surpassed the 200 billion VND revenue mark. This figure includes revenue from early screenings from April 27 to 29, official screening revenue from April 30 and pre-booked ticket sales.

According to the producer, the film has sold more than 2.55 million tickets.
Although there are still many controversies about the quality, in this film, director Ly Hai still shows a large investment in production scale, especially the big scenes.
For the first time on Vietnamese screens, a grand music stage was recreated, gathering more than 1,000 audiences, instead of relying on CGI effects. This stage surpassed the showcase event of Lat mat 7 , with a lighting system three times more complex, requiring unprecedentedly elaborate staging and set-up techniques.
The film's theme song - Vong tay nang also surpassed 1 million views on YouTube.

However, after continuously leading the box office revenue, the film began to show signs of slowing down and let Detective Kien: Headless Case take the lead.
Specifically, on May 11 alone, Lat Mat 8 currently has a revenue of more than 6.7 billion VND while Detective Kien has a revenue of more than 9.4 billion VND. The film directed by Victor Vu is also currently ranked higher in terms of the number of screenings, 2,586 screenings compared to 2,093 screenings.
The total revenue of Detective Kien: The Headless Case is also following closely, with more than 194 billion VND.
The race between these two films is creating an exciting race at the box office, completely overwhelming imported films including blockbusters like Thunderbolts or newly released and good quality films like Demon Slayer .
