Joining the delegation, Vietnamese delegates from countries and territories such as the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, Hungary, New Zealand, France, Japan, etc. planted 30 rosewood trees in response to the "Tree Planting Festival in eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho". The delegation visited the exhibition area of documents and images of the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than 1968.
Ms. Duong Thi Kim Dung (a Vietnamese in the US) expressed her joy and pride when participating in the “Tet tree planting festival to forever remember Uncle Ho” and visiting the Revolutionary Tradition Site of the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than 1968. Ms. Dung expressed her respect and gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, the heroic martyrs, and those who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. She also shared that no matter where they live in the world , Vietnamese people abroad always turn to their homeland and country.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Le Van Thu, implementing the "Tet tree planting" initiated by Uncle Ho, for many years, Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country have responded and actively participated in the movement of planting trees, afforestation, protecting and developing forests. Promoting tree planting and afforestation increases coverage to contribute to environmental protection, natural disaster mitigation, and at the same time adapt to climate change, contributing to building a "Green, environmentally friendly" city.
Every year, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City organizes a program with overseas Vietnamese, their relatives and those working in overseas Vietnamese affairs to plant trees and protect the environment. In particular, the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City organized the planting of 600 white starfruit trees in the Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve in 2022 and planted 200 rosewood trees in the National Historical and Cultural Park in 2023. Notably, the cost of tree planting is all voluntarily contributed by overseas Vietnamese individuals.

The activity contributes practically to the goal of each Ho Chi Minh City resident planting 1 tree, joining hands "for a green Vietnam" in response to the project of planting one billion trees in the period of 2021-2025 and implementing Directive 19 of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee on implementing the campaign "City residents do not litter on the streets and canals, for a clean city and to reduce flooding". At the same time, it helps overseas Vietnamese express their love and respect for President Ho Chi Minh .
