(HBĐT) - Within the framework of the activities of the first Da River Fish and Shrimp Festival in Hoa Binh province; Agricultural Fair and Exhibition of OCOP products in the Northern midlands and mountainous region in 2023, on the evening of October 26, the Provincial People's Committee organized a fishing ceremony and released flower lanterns on the Da River.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Bui Duc Hinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Van Khanh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Attending the ceremony were comrade Phet In Tha Son, Deputy Director of the Departmentof Education and Sports of Hua Phan province, Lao People's Democratic Republic; representatives of Quang Ngai province; leaders of departments, branches, People's Committees of districts and cities, along with a large number of people and tourists from all over the country.

In his opening speech, Mr. Dinh Cong Su, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said: The fishing ceremony and the flower lantern release on the Da River have profound spiritual significance. Through this activity, we contribute to honoring the spiritual and cultural values, the beauty of the Vietnamese people's spiritual culture, with the purpose of praying for the deceased to be liberated from the dead, for national peace and security, for favorable weather, for a year of bountiful harvests, and for the country to be peaceful and prosperous.

Special performance at the Fishing Prayer and Lantern Festival.
After the opening speech of the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, the provincial leaders and the people conducted the ceremony of releasing 2,000 flower lanterns on the Da River. According to the Vietnamese folklore, flower lanterns mean flower lights and in the Buddhist concept, flower lanterns have the meaning of the name Infinite Light. Flower lanterns are lit to honor the spiritual, mental and cultural values of the Vietnamese people on major holidays. Releasing flower lanterns according to the Vietnamese culture brings health and fortune to every home and is a place where people return to with wishes, luck, peace and goodness. At the same time, it is also an occasion for people to pray for the country to be prosperous and the people to be warm and happy.

The first Da River Fish and Shrimp Festival in Hoa Binh Province; the 2023 Agricultural Fair and Exhibition of OCOP Products in the Northern Midlands and Mountains will take place from October 26 to 31, 2023 with many attractive activities. In particular, at the opening ceremony on the evening of October 27, there will be an exhibition and auction of Hoa Binh Lake specialty fish; display and introduction of Hoa Binh cultural heritage and Muong cultural cuisine; exhibition of OCOP products of the Northern Midlands and Mountains provinces; fireworks display and many special art programs. On October 28, there will be a sports fishing competition and fish release to regenerate aquatic resources of Hoa Binh Lake... In addition, the Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Department of Fisheries to organize 2 seminars on the topic: Development of aquaculture in reservoirs; Solutions to protect, regenerate and develop aquatic resources in the Da River basin.
