On the morning of September 21, within the framework of their visit to Vietnam, Japanese Crown Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko attended an official welcoming ceremony at the Presidential Palace, chaired by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan.
The visit takes place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - Japan relations (September 21, 1973 - September 21, 2023).
Tonight, the Crown Prince and his wife will attend the 50th Anniversary of Vietnam-Japan Relations Ceremony at the International Convention Center.

On September 22, the Crown Prince of Japan will meet with President Vo Van Thuong and attend a reception; then attend the premiere of the opera Princess Anio that same evening.
During his 5-day visit to Vietnam, Crown Prince Akishino and his wife will have activities in Da Nang and Quang Nam.

The Vietnam-Japan Extensive Strategic Partnership has developed strongly and comprehensively in recent years, with a high level of political trust. Exchanges and contacts at high levels and across channels have been vibrant. Senior leaders of the two countries have maintained regular visits and contacts at international and regional forums.

The two sides are closely and effectively coordinating and supporting each other at multilateral forums and on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
