This morning (August 14), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology set the time to announce the results of admission and enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year.

Accordingly, the time to announce the admission scores of method 5 (comprehensive admission) and the official announcement of admission results of early admission methods is at 5:08 p.m. on August 17.

Candidates can check their admission results on August 18. New students will complete admission procedures directly at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology on August 20-21. Associate Professor Bui Hoai Thang, Head of Training Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said that the school's expected benchmark score this year for method 5 (combined admission method, including high school graduation exam scores) will not fluctuate much compared to last year. The reason is that the main impact on this admission method is the capacity assessment score, while the range of capacity assessment scores has been stable over the years.

For hot majors that have been favored by candidates for many years such as: Computer Science ; Computer Engineering; Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Biotechnology; Industrial Systems Engineering, Logistics and Supply Chain Management... this year's benchmark scores remain at the same level as last year.

For newly opened majors, the benchmark will have a correlation with related majors. Specifically, Data Science is correlated with Computer Science; Microcircuit Design is in the Electrical - Electronics group; Construction Economics is in the Construction group; Construction Geotechnical Engineering is correlated with the Construction group and the Geology - Petroleum group.

Associate Professor Bui Hoai Thang also said that the majors/groups of majors with high demand, many job opportunities but few candidates are interested in, the benchmark scores are often not high, and do not fluctuate much. These are majors such as: Geology - Oil and Gas (working globally), Environment and Resources (moving towards Net-zero), Materials (including the narrow field of Semiconductor Materials), Textile - Garment (green, sustainable), Thermal (cold, hot...), Industrial Maintenance, Technical Physics (biomedical physics...), Mechanical Engineering (computational mechanics, simulation...).

The benchmark score of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is the total score of 3 components: Competency assessment test score organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University; High school graduation exam score and transcript score. Of which, academic performance accounts for 90%, personal achievement accounts for 5% and social activities, literature, sports and arts account for 5%.

Specifically: Academic criteria (90%): Includes 3 components: high school study score (including 6 semesters corresponding to the admission combination); high school graduation exam score (including subjects in the admission combination); 2024 capacity assessment test score.

Individual achievement criteria (5%): Students who won national excellent student competitions, Science and Technology awards, foreign language proficiency, international admission certificates, members of national, provincial/municipal excellent student teams, and other academic awards. Criteria for social activities, literature, sports and arts (5%).
