Lunar New Year Holiday: 05 days as prescribed + 04 days off weekly
Civil servants, public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations are entitled to 5 days off for Lunar New Year according to regulations (1 day before Tet and 4 days after Tet).
Along with that, the weekly holiday schedule coincides with this time, so the total number of Tet Binh Ngo holidays is 09 consecutive days.
Specifically: Closed from Saturday, February 14, 2026 (December 27, At Ty) to Sunday, February 22, 2026 (January 6, Binh Ngo).

Previously, on October 13, the Government Office issued document No. 9859/VPCP-KGVX, stating that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed to the plan to take a 9-day Tet holiday as proposed by the Ministry of Home Affairs in document 8764/BNV-CVL.
The Prime Minister requested agencies to arrange staff on duty to ensure service to the people during the long holiday.
National Day Holiday 2026: 05 consecutive days
On the occasion of National Day 2026, civil servants and public employees will have 02 holidays off (September 1 and 2, 2026) and the adjacent weekly day off, combined with 01 swap day.
In total, the National Day holiday lasts 05 days, from Saturday August 29, 2026 to Wednesday September 2, 2026.
For business employees
Employers choose one of the following Lunar New Year holiday options for employees: 01 day off at the end of the year of At Ty + 04 days at the beginning of the year of Binh Ngo; Or 02 days off at the end of the year + 03 days at the beginning of the year; Or 03 days off at the end of the year + 02 days at the beginning of the year.
On National Day, employees will have 02/09/2026 and 1 of 02 days off: 01/09 or 03/09/2026.
The leave plan must be announced at least 30 days before it is applied.
The Ministry of Home Affairs requested agencies and units to develop plans to respond to and handle unexpected work; at the same time, encourage businesses to proactively implement measures to stabilize supply and demand of goods and practice thrift during holidays and Tet.
