According to many households in Tien Dien commune, in recent years, serious environmental pollution has originated from Mr. Nguyen Xuan Khang’s pig farm in the area. Although people have sent petitions to the local government many times, the issue has not been completely resolved, causing the lives of dozens of households to be severely affected.
Ms. Trinh Thi Thu, Hong My village (Tien Dien commune) was upset: “The strong stench coming from the farm appears all year round, especially on hot sunny days or when the wind changes direction. The smell of waste is blown directly into residential areas, affecting people’s health and daily life, disrupting their lives.”
Sharing the same frustration, Ms. Phan Thi Nhan, Hong My village (Tien Dien commune) said: "Wastewater from the farm flows into the fields, causing rice and crops to grow poorly, and productivity to decrease significantly."

Responding to complaints from local residents, reporters from Ha Tinh Radio and Television were recently present at the scene to document the situation. Observations showed that the farm currently raises hundreds of pigs, but the waste treatment system has seriously degraded. The biogas tank is almost ineffective, and the smell of exhaust fumes is strong. Behind the farm, a thick stream of wastewater flows directly into the environment, creating long, black streaks on people's fields.
Ms. Tran Thi Binh, Hong My village (Tien Dien commune) added: "Every time it rains, wastewater from the farm overflows into the fields. I hope the authorities will intervene to handle the situation to ensure the lives and production of the people."

Speaking to reporters, the leader of Tien Dien Commune People's Committee said: The local government has grasped the violation and recently established an inspection team. Through the inspection, the biogas tank system was damaged, collapsed, and could not ensure environmental work.
Mr. Dau Van Hung, Head of the Economic Department, Tien Dien Commune People's Committee added: "The local government has contacted the Ha Tinh Center for Environmental Resources Monitoring to take samples of wastewater and is currently waiting for the results to have a basis for further treatment."

The long-term pollution situation at this livestock farm is directly affecting the health, daily life and production of people in the area. The public is asking the question, when will this problem be resolved? The answer depends on the responsibility of the livestock farm owner and the decisive intervention of authorities at all levels.
