The decision signed by Mr. Tran Chien Thang - Former Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, President of the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation - on December 1 clearly states: athletes winning gold, silver and bronze medals in the Gymnastics and Aerobics categories will receive certificates of merit and corresponding rewards from the Federation.

Accordingly, each gold medal is awarded 10,000,000 VND; silver medals receive 6,000,000 VND and bronze medals are awarded 4,000,000 VND. This is an important source of encouragement for the athletes, especially in the context of this year's SEA Games with many changes in content and competition regulations, directly affecting the plans of the teams.

At the 33rd SEA Games, the national gymnastics team participated with 7 athletes, including prominent faces such as Nguyen Van Khanh Phong, Dang Ngoc Xuan Thien, Dinh Phuong Thanh, and Nguyen Thi Quynh Nhu.

They are all athletes who have made their names known in regional and continental competitions and are expected to continue to bring success to the Vietnamese sports delegation. The target of Gymnastics is to win 2-3 gold medals - a number that is considered appropriate for the current force and especially suitable for the change in regulations in this Congress.

According to the new regulations, the organizing committee has removed the all-around and team events – which are the traditional strengths of Vietnamese men’s gymnastics. Instead, the 33rd SEA Games will only have individual events.

Each athlete can register for a maximum of 3 events and can only enter the finals of 2 events. The narrowing of the "stage" has forced the team to adjust the entire preparation plan, focusing more on choosing the event that best suits each athlete's strengths.

Despite the disruptions, the coaching staff affirmed that the entire team has a plan to adapt, prepare thoroughly and are determined to complete the target. The players are in the sprint training phase, prioritizing maximum time to perfect technique, increase stability and ensure performance.

In Aerobics, Vietnam also participated with 7 excellent athletes. At the most recent SEA Games, Aerobic Vietnam made an impression by winning all 5 gold medals of the Games, thereby contributing significantly to the leading achievements of the Vietnamese sports delegation in the region.

However, at the 33rd SEA Games, Aerobics has undergone a major change when the organizers reduced it to just two events. This makes it more difficult for the team to fully defend their achievements from the previous SEA Games.

However, the Aerobic team still aims to achieve the highest results, striving to defend the leading position in the medal table for two consecutive terms. The athletes are practicing with high intensity, reviewing each combination of movements to ensure technical, artistic and difficult requirements according to the new regulations.

The decision to offer bonuses by the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation is considered a timely source of encouragement for both teams. In the context of the adjustments in the competition contents, this reward not only has material significance but also adds motivation for the athletes to compete confidently, aiming for the best results, contributing to the overall achievements of the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 33rd SEA Games.
