U22 Vietnam departs for Thailand to attend SEA Games 33

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced that on December 1, the U22 Vietnam team left Ho Chi Minh City for Bangkok (Thailand), officially starting the journey to conquer the 33rd SEA Games.

Previously, the VFF's advance team had been in Bangkok since November 30 to check the conditions of the hotel, training ground, competition ground and related logistical requirements, thereby providing maximum support to coach Kim Sang-sik and his team during the competition at the 33rd SEA Games.

Before leaving for the 33rd SEA Games, head coach Kim Sang-sik officially finalized the list of 23 U22 Vietnam players participating in men's football at the tournament in Thailand.

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that on the morning of November 30, head coach Kim Sang-sik officially finalized the list of 23 players for the Vietnam U22 team participating in the men's football event of the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.

The team's official squad will be determined after a comprehensive assessment of each player's form, fitness, and tactical response through training and concentration periods in 2025.

With 23 carefully selected players and thorough preparation, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team have the highest determination, aiming to compete for the gold medal in men's football - an important goal contributing to the overall success of Vietnamese Sports at the Games.

At SEA Games 33, U22 Vietnam is in group B with U22 Malaysia and U22 Laos.

According to the adjusted schedule, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will play the opening match against U22 Laos on December 3, before facing U22 Malaysia on December 11, at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok).

Evaluating the opponents in Group B, Coach Kim Sang-sik said the first goal is to qualify for the group stage.

Mr. Kim commented that U22 Laos is not considered as highly as Malaysia, but U22 Vietnam still has to prepare carefully for the opening match to aim for the best result, even trying to score many goals to create an advantage.

U22 Malaysia is considered a more difficult "test", requiring detailed analysis and appropriate adjustments.
