The team's official squad will be determined after a comprehensive assessment of each player's form, fitness, and tactical response through training and concentration periods in 2025.
With 23 carefully selected players and thorough preparation, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team have the highest determination, aiming to compete for the gold medal in men's football - an important goal contributing to the overall success of Vietnamese Sports at the Games.

At SEA Games 33, U22 Vietnam is in group B with U22 Malaysia and U22 Laos.
According to the adjusted schedule, coach Kim Sang-sik and his team will play the opening match against U22 Laos on December 3, before facing U22 Malaysia on December 11, at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok).
Evaluating the opponents in Group B, Coach Kim Sang-sik said the first goal is to qualify for the group stage.

Mr. Kim commented that U22 Laos is not considered as highly as Malaysia, but U22 Vietnam still has to prepare carefully for the opening match to aim for the best result, even trying to score many goals to create an advantage.
U22 Malaysia is considered a more difficult "test", requiring detailed analysis and appropriate adjustments.
