Some works include "Wild Field" (1979), "Mother Away from Home" (1980), "Dong Loc Intersection" (1997), " Hanoi 12 Days and Nights" (2002), "Ha Dong Silk Dress" (2006), "The Scent of Burning Grass" (2011). In addition to free film screenings, the film festival has many exchange programs and conversations with the film crew.
Dr. Ngo Phuong Lan, Director of DANAFF, said that compared to works produced during the war, films produced after 1975 have innovation in their writing style. The works do not stop at depicting the tragedy of war, but also highlight human destiny and carry philosophy of life.
The third Da Nang Asian Film Festival was held from June 29 to July 5, introducing and awarding domestic and international films. The program consisted of two categories: Asian Film and Vietnamese Film, each category had 6 awards, the highest worth 115 million VND.
The event has many film screenings, talks, and workshops. The imprint of Vietnam's war films since the country's reunification, with the participation of many experts, to evaluate the position of war films in the development of cinema, promoting the image of Vietnam to the world . Last year, "Cu li khong bao nuoc" by director Pham Ngoc Lan won Best Film in the Asian Film category. "Mai" by Tran Thanh won the awards for Best Vietnamese Film and Best Director.
