The LIXIL ALP Pavilion exhibition held on the morning of November 16 is a highlight within the framework of the LIXIL ALP program: The future of Vietnamese living space. The annual program has been organized by LIXIL Vietnam since 2016 with the professional sponsorship of the Vietnam Association of Architects.
This year, the special exhibition is coordinated by the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District. Previously, on November 15, the Organizing Committee held the Workshop "Urban Rejuvenation - Initial Solutions" to announce solutions from 5 research units under the LIXIL ALP 2023 - 2024 program.

In the face of strong urbanization, the balance between infrastructure and living environment quality becomes the core goal for a sustainable city. Therefore, the LIXIL ALP 2023-2024 conference was held to propose solutions to contribute to creating the future of living space in Vietnam.
Following that success, the LIXIL ALP Pavilion 2023 – 2024 exhibition will bring research results around the theme of “Urban Rejuvenation” closer to the community and promote the creation of 'rejuvenating' solutions for urban spaces.
Mr. Uchidate Katsuaki - General Director of LIXIL Vietnam - delivered the opening speech of the exhibition.
Sharing about the Exhibition, Mr. Uchidate Katsuaki - General Director of LIXIL Vietnam - Representative of the Founder and Organizer said: “ LIXIL ALP 2023 - 2024 is an important step forward for us in our journey to find and propose solutions and in-depth research plans to "rejuvenate cities" in the current context.
We hope that LIXIL ALP Pavilion will become an architectural icon, providing a space for community connection. Through this, we also hope to collect more diverse feedback from the community, thereby striving to develop the program and conduct more in-depth research in the future .
Architect Dao Thanh Hung (AHL Architects) spoke at the ceremony.
LIXIL ALP Pavilion was designed by AHL Architects. Sharing the original idea, the unit expressed: “ We realized that there is a thin, long space, clinging to the lake, sheltered by the canopy of old trees gently drooping towards the lake, almost separate from the noise of the main traffic road or activities on the sidewalk. There, you can sit and feel Hanoi clearly and familiarly, and that is the perfect natural space for the exhibition of research projects on the theme of “Urban Rejuvenation” of LIXIL ALP 2023-2024” .

LIXIL ALP Pavilion is created with a hollow structure made of 57m long ring-lock scaffolding, nestled close to the Lake, minimizing space occupation, shaping the soft boundary inside and outside of the exhibition. The silhouette of the Turtle Tower is carved on this structure, creating 3 hollow spaces combined with the existing 1.2m lakeside road, the green landscape strip and the canopy of ancient trees to form a natural complex.
People's daily and weekend activities are not affected by the exhibition space but are enhanced by the experiential activities right inside the structure of the scaffolding system: Children's play area, multi-purpose floor for resting, street performances...
In particular, the playground designed by Think Playgrounds is safe for children and close to the urban environment, including: Swings, climbing system combined with slides, stairs and a multi-purpose stage that can be used as a resting place. The Pavilion space is also enlivened by activities of the exclusive partner INAX, interactive art activities with the community such as Drawing and Architectural Tile Puzzle will be an interesting destination on the weekend.
The play space is cleverly integrated and safe for children.
5 research topics introduced to the public through the exhibition include:
Sustainable urban regeneration: Adaptive development of industrial heritage - PVCHB Awakening "places" in the city - Think Playgrounds.
Transforming landfill into green park: Case study of Go Cat landfill - Ho Chi Minh City - TA Landscape Architecture Vietnam.
Townhouse Renovation - Mini Building - VUUV Architecture and Interior Design.
C-town Urban Area - TAT Architects StudioLIXIL ALP Pavilion 2023 - 2024 is one of the activities responding to the Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024 with the theme "Creative Crossroads", encouraging each person to re-evaluate their creative self in the journey of life.
The exhibition is also organized in response to the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024); implemented according to the plan of the Hanoi People's Committee on organizing activities for Hanoi to participate in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in 2024 - 2025.
In particular, the opening of LIXIL ALP Pavilion coincides with important milestones: the anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day on November 23, the 20th anniversary of Hanoi receiving national relics and the 20th anniversary of the first walking street, creating a deep connection between the history, culture and future of the Capital.
