Long An promotes friendship, investment and trade cooperation with China

At the invitation of the People's Association for Foreign Friendship of Liaoning Province (China), the Long An Provincial Delegation led by Mr. Mai Van Nhieu - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman in charge of the Long An Provincial People's Council, visited and worked in China from May 12 to May 16, 2025.

Within the framework of the working trip, in Dalian City, Liaoning Province (China), Long An Province coordinated with the People's Government of Dalian City, Liaoning Province to successfully organize the Conference on Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion between Long An Province, Vietnam and Liaoning Province, China.

Attending the event were Mr. Lanh Tuyen Phong - Deputy Mayor of Dalian City, Mr. Mai Van Nhieu - Vice Chairman in charge of Long An Provincial People's Council, Ms. Gia Quy Phan - Vice Chairman of Liaoning Provincial People's Friendship Association along with more than 100 leaders of Chinese corporations and investors.

Investment, trade and tourism promotion conference between Long An province, Vietnam and Liaoning province, China took place in Dalian city.

At the conference, Mr. Lanh Tuyen Phong - Deputy Mayor of Dalian City introduced Dalian as an important industrial center and seaport of Northeast China. According to him, many Chinese enterprises, including those in Dalian, are strongly interested in the Vietnamese market.

As a locality that is always dynamic and reforming to serve the sustainable development role of enterprises well, and announced by the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) as the province ranked in the Top 2 most reformed localities in 20 years according to the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) and the top 3 PCI in 2024, Long An province is considered an attractive destination in the strategy of expanding investment and developing the supply chain of Chinese enterprises. In addition to the fields of industry and logistics, Mr. Lanh Tuyen Phong also highly appreciated the potential for cooperation in areas such as bilateral trade, goods trading, especially the export of agricultural products and processed foods from Vietnam to the Chinese market.

At the same time, he hopes to expand and strengthen cooperation in other fields with Long An province such as investment cooperation in agricultural mechanization, research on new materials, renewable energy, biotechnology, culinary - entertainment tourism and digital transformation in the coming time.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman in charge of the Long An Provincial People's Council Mai Van Nhieu emphasized that the Vietnam-China relationship is a friendly neighborly relationship, comprehensive cooperation, which has been diligently cultivated by generations of leaders of the two countries, with many positive developments in the fields of economy, trade, investment and people-to-people exchange.

On the basis of that friendly relationship, cooperation between localities of the two countries increasingly plays a practical and strategic complementary role in bilateral relations, creating flexible and effective dialogue channels, especially in the context of deep economic integration and global supply chain shift.

The Vice Chairman in charge of the Long An Provincial People's Council said that Long An is always ready to cooperate in the spirit of goodwill, practicality and mutual benefit, especially focusing on building stable and long-term cooperation mechanisms with enterprises and local governments of China. At the same time, he expressed his belief that through this conference, it will open a process of increasingly deeper and more effective cooperation between Long An province and Liaoning province in particular - especially Dalian city, making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of each side and further deepening the Vietnam - China relationship in the new era.

Within the framework of the Conference on Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion between Long An Province, Vietnam and Liaoning Province, China, a direct connection session (B2B) took place to help Chinese enterprises have the opportunity to exchange directly, learn about the investment environment, and connect trade to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between Long An Province, Vietnam and Liaoning Province, China in the coming time.

At this networking session, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Long An province, Tran Van Tuoi, introduced an overview of the investment environment and strategic cooperation potential of Long An province. He affirmed that the province always accompanies investors, ensures legal support mechanisms, reforms administrative procedures along with clear, transparent and effective investment incentives. Strengthening the connection between businesses of both sides through official channels will help improve the effectiveness of cooperation and promote the circulation of goods.

Within the framework of the program, the business connection session took place enthusiastically with many substantive exchanges between Long An and Chinese enterprises. Representatives of Long An International Port introduced the integrated ecosystem including seaports, industrial parks and modern urban areas, playing the role of a cargo transit center, conveniently connecting Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces, creating favorable conditions for Chinese investors to expand the supply chain.

Representatives of the Long An Province Young Entrepreneurs Association also shared future cooperation directions, including supporting Chinese enterprises to access the Vietnamese market, connecting distribution channels and exploiting the domestic market through the business community. At the same time, the Association hopes to receive cooperation to bring Long An products, especially consumer goods, processed foods and agricultural products, to penetrate the Chinese market in a systematic manner, through a formal distribution system and meeting international quality standards.

Participating in the connection program were more than 15 representatives from enterprises of Dalian City and enterprises of Long An province who proactively participated in exchanging opinions, sharing, and learning about areas of interest for investment cooperation such as: connecting key agricultural products of Long An province, investment cooperation in mechanization in agriculture, mechanical engineering, new materials, renewable energy, biotechnology, digital transformation, cuisine, hotels, maritime transport, logistics...

Regarding issues of Chinese enterprises interested in investment cooperation and trade connection with Long An province, Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial People's Council Mai Van Nhieu assigned Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam - Vice Chairman of the Long An Province Young Entrepreneurs Association to act as a bridge to connect enterprises for investment cooperation in the coming time.

With the impressive results achieved, it can be seen that Long An is gradually affirming its role as a strategic destination in the international investment flow. The program not only creates a bridge of cooperation with Liaoning province but also expands connections with other economic centers of China, contributing to shaping long-term, effective and sustainable partnerships in the coming time.
