Customers cannot link or make online payment transactions from e-wallets/accounts on the LPBank application/LPBank Web ( https://ebanking.lpbank.com.vn/home ); at the same time, deposits/withdrawals between e-wallets and bank accounts will also be suspended. For payment accounts, customers cannot open new online payment accounts without updating biometric information (regulations applicable from October 1, 2024). Customers cannot continue to make payments or withdraw money on payment accounts if their identification documents or residence certificates expire or are no longer valid (this regulation applies from January 1, 2025). For card transactions, customers cannot open a card online without updating biometric information from October 1, 2024, and cannot make card transactions when identity documents and documents proving residence expire from January 1, 2025. And from January 1, 2025, cards can only be used to make electronic transactions after completing the verification to ensure that the identity documents and biometric information of the cardholder match. Customers should proactively update the latest valid identity documents and complete biometric information . In order to ensure that cash withdrawals, new account openings, payments on payment accounts and cards are not interrupted, LPBank recommends that customers check the validity period of their identity documents and supplement biometric information before January 1, 2025. Specifically: Customers with identity documents that are about to expire, have expired, or ID cards/CCCDs need to convert their identity documents to chip-embedded ID cards or new ID cards according to the provisions of law. Customers who currently own chip-embedded ID cards or ID cards (issued from July 1, 2024 according to the new standards of the Ministry of Public Security) that are still valid need to compare their identity documents and biometric information on the LPBank application or at the bank's transaction counters nationwide. In case the citizen identification card, ID card, identity card, passport or equivalent documents that the customer provided to the bank when opening an account have changed or have expired, LPBank recommends that customers update their new identity documents on the LPBank application or at branches and transaction offices nationwide. According to LPBank's representative, adding biometric information is a necessary condition to register for online services, increase security and ensure the best interests of customers. Therefore, all biometric comparison and update information is strictly implemented by LPBank in accordance with Decision 2345 of the State Bank, Circular 17 on opening and using payment accounts and Circular 18/2024/TT-NHNN on bank card activities.
