Latest update on flood on Red River in Hanoi on September 12
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 9:00 a.m. on September 12, the flood on the Red River in Hanoi was at 11.18 meters, 0.32 meters below alert level 3.
The flood situation in the past hours shows that the flood on Cau River (Bac Ninh province) is fluctuating at the peak flood level of 7.63m, 1.33m above alert level 3, 0.21m below the historical flood level in 1971 (7.84m).
Floods on the Thuong River (Bac Giang province) are fluctuating at a peak flood level of 7.23m, 0.93m above alert level 3, and 0.30m below the historical flood level in 1986 (7.53m).
Floods on Thai Binh River (Hai Duong City), Hoang Long River (Ninh Binh Province) are rising slowly, floods on Red River (Hanoi City) are changing slowly.
Floods on the Thao River in Yen Bai and Phu Tho; floods on the Lo River in Tuyen Quang and Vu Quang are receding. Floods on the Luc Nam River (Bac Giang province) are changing slowly.

Water level details at 9:00 a.m. September 12, on rivers as follows:
On Thao River in Yen Bai 31.27m, below alarm level 3 by 0.27m; in Phu Tho 16.98m, below alarm level 1 by 52cm;
On Cau River at Dap Cau, the flood is rising again; on Thuong River at Phu Lang Thuong, it is rising; on Luc Nam River at Luc Nam, it is standing at 6.33m, 0.03m above alarm level 3;
On the Lo River in Tuyen Quang, the water level is falling at 24.53m, 0.53m below alert level 2; on the Hoang Long River in Ben De, the water level is rising at 4.71m, 0.71m above alert level 3; on the Thai Binh River in Pha Lai, the water level is rising at 6.19m, 0.19m above alert level 3;
The flood on the Red River in Hanoi is at 11.18m, trending down, currently 0.32m below alert level 3.
In the next 12 hours, flood on Thao River in Yen Bai will continue to drop to alert level 1. Flood on Lo River in Tuyen Quang will drop below alert level 2 and Vu Quang will drop to alert level 2.
Floods on the Cau River continue to fluctuate at peak levels above alert level 3. Floods on the Thuong River continue to fluctuate at peak levels above alert level 3. Floods on the Luc Nam River will change slowly at alert level 3.
Floods on the Thai Binh River will change slowly above alert level 3. Floods on the Hoang Long River are rising slowly above alert level 3.

Flood warning downstream
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the next 24 hours, the water level at downstream stations of the Red River - Thai Binh River system will rise to alert level 3 and above alert level 3. Rising flood water levels will cause flooding in low-lying areas along the river, alluvial areas outside the main dike, causing the riverbank dykes to overflow, and landslides of dykes and embankments that can seriously affect vulnerable locations along the river in the following provinces/cities: Hanoi, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh.
Flooding may occur in low-lying areas along rivers in the provinces of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Thai Nguyen, Hoa Binh; flash floods and landslides on steep slopes in mountainous areas of the North.
