Reporting on the preparations for the congress, Mr. Dinh Van Dung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province, said that the preparations for the provincial-level congress have been basically completed, and the contents of the congress documents have been agreed upon.

The congress is scheduled to take place from August 8-9, 2024, at the Dong Thap Trade Union Labor Culture House; the second working session - the solemn session - will be broadcast live. The total number of delegates attending the congress is 429, including 289 official delegates and 140 invited guests.

Regarding personnel matters, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province has prepared two options: Option 1 includes 11 members, and Option 2 includes 15 members.

At the conference, feedback focused on key areas such as: highlighting achievements, strengthening the specifics of supervision and critical review; showcasing the highlights of the previous term, especially the province's progress in the region. Some suggestions included increasing the proportion of female personnel and emphasizing the results of the campaign to eliminate temporary housing.

Speaking to Dong Thap province, Vice Chairman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh assessed that Dong Thap province had been very proactive in building and closely following the Central Government's guidelines on the congress process.

Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Anh noted that the program's progression needs careful consideration and a scientifically sound structure. The presentations should highlight key, groundbreaking points. Furthermore, the personnel structure needs to be reviewed and ensured to be rigorous.

Regarding the direction for the next term, Vice Chairwoman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh suggested adding clear targets and objectives, along with practical and appropriate solutions. "The goal is to make the congress a broad and profound political activity, demonstrating unity and solidarity within society. Therefore, the communication needs to be diverse and engaging," Vice Chairwoman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh emphasized.

According to Vice Chairman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh, the self-governance model has been developed by the province for a long time, and the next term needs a plan to significantly improve it. Based on the local reality and the requirements of the tasks, solutions and metrics are needed to assess the impact of the program on the locality, considering it a breakthrough for the province.

Furthermore, the Congress document should clearly state how the "For the Poor" Fund will be mobilized in the future; the supervision of officials and Party members is already clearly stipulated by law, so it needs to be strengthened. "We should also consider including all advanced new rural communes and districts... From these outstanding results, we will draw conclusions and create lasting impressions so that the people can see the remarkable achievements," Vice Chairman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh urged.

Reporting on the preparations for the Long An Provincial Fatherland Front Congress, Mr. Truong Van No, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An province, said that so far all wards, communes, districts, and towns in the province have successfully held their congresses.

For the Provincial Front Congress, it is planned to have two sessions, the afternoon of August 12, 2024 and the morning of August 13. There will be 262 official delegates and 75 invited guests.

The personnel work of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Long An province is carried out in accordance with the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ensuring comprehensive leadership by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; meeting the standards, with a reasonable number and composition. Focus is placed on quality, practicality, representativeness, and representation of all classes, strata, ethnic groups, and religions so that the Front truly reflects the image of national unity.

The Committee has 85 members, an increase of 3 compared to the 9th term. The Standing Committee has 7 members, including: the Chairman, 3 Vice-Chairmen, and 3 Standing Committee members.

On the sidelines of the Congress, in coordination with the Provincial Steering Committee for the "Vietnamese People Prioritize Using Vietnamese Goods" campaign, a "Proud of Vietnamese Goods" fair will be organized in Tan An City, featuring 400 booths.

In their comments on the Long An Provincial Congress, delegates suggested that the detailed program should be supplemented to ensure its suitability; consideration should be given to incorporating a welcoming scene, given the country is at a special moment. They also emphasized the need for better time management for all activities. Furthermore, they proposed that the official session include a report on the province's socio-economic situation over the past period, clearly highlighting the thoughts and aspirations of the people.

Speaking to Long An province, Vice Chairman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh expressed that, over many terms, the Provincial Party Secretary has been included in the Fatherland Front, which has had a significant impact on the activities, achievements, and role of the Fatherland Front in the province. Ms. Truong Thi Ngoc Anh hoped that this tradition would continue to be implemented by the province, and that the document should highlight the impact of this.

Long An also needs to clearly define criteria for building a model of cadres. Regarding situation forecasting, the forecasts should accurately reflect the overall situation of the country and global issues.

Vice Chairwoman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh emphasized that Long An is a locality with strong activities related to resource development, with a long-standing tradition. Therefore, the document needs to highlight the achievements of the past term. In addition, it should address how support for reclaimed land and new economic zones has been implemented.

In particular, Long An is a locality heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, a situation unprecedented in its severity. Therefore, the political report needs to delve deeper into this to clearly highlight the role of the Fatherland Front in the document regarding propaganda activities and supporting people in overcoming difficult times.

The event needs to be organized in a way that creates a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere among all segments of the population. Outstanding results, groundbreaking programs, and well-organized presentations are essential.

The Vice Chairman noted that the document outlined a breakthrough program but lacked specific solutions; he emphasized the need to strengthen propaganda efforts, combining media coverage with vivid visual communication to create a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere among all segments of the population.

Regarding the proposals from the provincial representatives, Vice Chairman Truong Thi Ngoc Anh said that she would take note of them and study the proposals in order to provide solutions to support Long An province in organizing the congress successfully and facilitating activities in the next term.
