The final round of the Miss Vietnam 2024 pageant is scheduled to take place on the night of June 14 in Hue City. However, the unfavorable developments from storm No. 1 have made the stage completion process difficult.
“With nearly 37 years of experience in organizing the Miss Vietnam pageant, the organizing committee understands that the quality of the pageant is the top priority. Therefore, to ensure that the organization goes smoothly and adapts to actual weather conditions, the organizing committee has decided to adjust the time of the Miss Vietnam 2024 final night. The new time of the final night will be announced by the organizing committee in the near future,” the organizing committee informed.
This decision had to be made in the context of the Final Night stage being a live stage, set up outdoors, next to the Perfume River, inspired by the pearl on the Perfume River's surface and the story of a heritage site that is shining.
The organizers said that hundreds of tons of equipment, along with a 6,000-seat grandstand system, have been continuously constructed by a team of hundreds of technical workers over the past several days. The construction team had to deal with unusual weather conditions that caused prolonged heavy rain and rising water levels in Hue. This unfavorable weather has significantly affected the stage construction progress as well as the contestants' practice schedules.
The organizers also committed that the rights of the audience who own tickets to the final night of Miss Vietnam 2024 will be fully reserved by the organizers. For those who cannot attend, the organizers will refund according to the current ticket distribution policy.
On the same morning, the organizing committee dismantled the equipment in the floating stage area because the Huong River water level rose rapidly due to heavy rain, exceeding the alarm level 1. Currently, heavy rain continues and the Huong River water level is forecast to rise when the Binh Dien hydropower plant upstream releases water to regulate.
