Join hands to eliminate temporary housing
In Mai Son district, there are 455 poor households with housing difficulties in need of support. Mr. Tong Viet Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Mai Son district, said: The movement to support the elimination of temporary houses has created a widespread spread, receiving support from organizations and individuals. The Vietnam Fatherland Front and mass organizations actively mobilized members to donate and participate in supporting working days and construction materials.
Accompanying the Program to eliminate temporary houses in the district, the Fund for Encouraging the Development of Mountainous Communities in Mai Son District contributed 600 million VND in cash, joining hands to "leave no one behind". Ms. Vu Thi Khau, Chairwoman of the Fund for Encouraging the Development of Mountainous Communities in Mai Son District, shared: Seeing the difficulties and hardships of households living in dilapidated houses, I feel that I need to be responsible to the community and society. With the amount of money donated, we hope to help poor households build solid homes, no longer having to worry every time the rainy season comes, so that families can gradually stabilize their lives.
The program to eliminate temporary houses in Mai Son district has the cooperation and support of many organizations and individuals in the area. The State supported more than 27 billion VND; organizations, philanthropists, and people contributed more than 2 billion VND, along with nearly 10,000 working days of leveling and transporting materials so that poor households can have new houses and stabilize their lives.
Complete temporary housing demolition work
Implementing the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, Chieng Kheo commune has 21 poor households in need of help. With the support of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the commune has mobilized local people, those who have a lot will support a lot, those who have little will support a little or support by working days and materials so that poor households can have new houses, stabilize their lives, and feel secure in production. Up to now, 21 houses have been completed, with a total amount of money mobilized of nearly 1.3 billion VND, of which, people contributed more than 100 million VND, along with 700 working days to help level and level the house foundation, and transport materials.
Receiving support to build a new house, Mr. Hoang Van Kim, Buot Van village, Chieng Kheo commune, emotionally said: My family has been living in a dilapidated house for a long time, only dreaming of having a new house to avoid the rain and wind, to feel secure in production and take care of our children. Thanks to the support of 60 million VND from the program, along with the help of the villagers, my family was able to build a level 4 house with solid walls, hard floors, and hard roofs. Now, we no longer have to worry every time the rainy season comes.
Chieng Luong Commune has also completed the construction and repair of 73 houses. Mr. Hoang Huu Phong, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, informed: The commune called for the joint efforts of the people, mobilized all resources, supported people with materials and labor days to reduce construction costs. The Commune Veterans Association established 2 construction teams with 16 members, taking on the construction with construction costs lower than the market price. The commune took on the guarantee with material dealers for households that could not afford to buy materials. Therefore, the commune has completed the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses according to the set plan.
Implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses launched by the Government , Mai Son district has 455 houses, including 447 newly built houses and 8 repaired houses. Up to this point, the whole district has completed 100% of the plan. The houses of households after being supported to build new houses and repair have ensured "3 hard" (hard foundation, hard frame, hard roof); with a minimum area of 30 m2 .
Mr. Ngo Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of Mai Son District People's Committee, shared: In addition to the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the district is interested in implementing livelihood support and vocational training programs; continuing to call on organizations and individuals to join hands to help poor and near-poor households to link up to develop production to gradually escape poverty and develop a sustainable economy .
With the spirit of "leaving no one behind", the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses has profound humanistic meaning, demonstrating the concern of the entire political system and each citizen joining hands, sharing, and creating conditions for poor households to strive to rise up, work with peace of mind, produce, and stabilize their lives.
