A newly recorded landslide appeared on La Son - Hoa Lien road, causing signs of soil and rocks sliding down the road's longitudinal grooves.

Preliminary estimates show that along the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan route, there are about 2,000m3 of soil and rock that have collapsed and filled the road's longitudinal ditches.

Witnessing the above scene, driver Nguyen Xuan Tai (residing in Ngu Hanh Son district, Da Nang) said he was very worried when passing through this section because the remaining amount of rock and soil was quite large, which could fall down and cause burying and traffic jams at any time.

Heavy rain caused the concrete structure to crack and crumble. According to records, many cracks still exist on the slope roof, with the risk of cracking at any time.

Immediately after the damage occurred, Road Management Area III requested the Road Management Offices and maintenance management contractors to deploy human resources, machinery and equipment to clear soil and rocks, quickly fix the damage, and ensure smooth and safe traffic.

An old landslide point at the La Son - Hoa Lien section, the slope is eroded by water, the roof is open, and the soil and rocks are at risk of landslides.

The gabion wall was pushed, causing rocks and soil to fill the ditch along the roadside of La Son - Hoa Lien.

Heavy rain caused a large amount of water to flow into the drainage ditches on La Son - Hoa Lien road.

According to the damage volume summary report of the Road Management Office III, in addition to the severe landslide at km39+750, the La Son - Hoa Lien section also has 15 locations on the route where rocks and soil filled longitudinal ditches and peak ditches, 250 fallen trees crushed the protective fence and a number of fallen signs.

Authorities are urgently repairing damage on the La Son - Hoa Lien road.
