Recently, Man Utd and Newcastle have been fighting for the signature of striker Benjamin Sesko from Leipzig in a very thrilling battle. The Red Devils proposed to pay 75 million euros in advance plus 10 million euros in additional fees.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have offered to pay €80m with up to €10m in performance-related bonuses, bringing the total fee to €90m (£78.2m). However, it is unclear whether the two clubs will be able to agree on additional terms.
Leipzig are considering both offers, with similar prices. The final decision will likely be up to Sesko himself. The 22-year-old has yet to officially announce his choice. At this point, Leipzig have given Sesko a break to decide his future.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Sesko will agree to sign a 5-year contract with Man Utd, until June 2030.
Man Utd hope that scouting director Christopher Vivell will become the “secret weapon” to help them surpass Newcastle in this deal. Mr. Vivell has a close relationship with Sesko. It was Vivell who brought the Slovenian striker to Leipzig. He discovered Sesko’s talent at the age of 16 when he was working at Salzburg.

Sesko is said to have great confidence in Vivell, which could make him lean towards Man Utd despite the Champions League opportunities he could have with Newcastle.
Newcastle insist their pursuit of Sesko is not a replacement for Alexander Isak, who they rejected from selling to Liverpool for £110m. The St James' Park outfit have said they will not negotiate unless they receive a £150m bid for Isak, prompting Liverpool to pull out.
Man Utd are determined to buy Sesko with the desire to upgrade their attack. They have completed the recruitment of wingers Matheus Cunha (62.5 million pounds) and Bryan Mbeumo (71 million pounds). Now, coach Amorim is in dire need of a bright striker.
