Speaking further on this issue, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Phung Duc Tien requested clarification on who stamped that seal.

If it fails, the ministry will request the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention Police (C05) of the Ministry of Public Security to coordinate and intervene.

Talking to Tuoi Tre Online on June 2 about the pig slaughter control process, Ms. Huynh Thi Thanh Binh - head of the community veterinary department of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine (Ministry of Agriculture and Environment) - said that according to Circular 09/2016/TT-BNNPTNT dated June 1, 2016 on slaughter control and veterinary hygiene, after slaughtering pigs, veterinary staff must examine the head, organs and carcass to detect any abnormalities or pathologies.

In case of detecting signs of disease on the carcass or viscera, it must be marked, separated and brought to the processing area for final re-inspection before making a decision on handling. Stamp "VSTY TREATMENT" (abbreviation for veterinary hygiene treatment) or "DESTRUCTION" (destruction) after making a decision on handling animal products that do not meet veterinary hygiene requirements.

"In case a pig is found to have a skin disease (severe dermatitis) after slaughter, the veterinary staff must determine whether it is a symptom of a disease or the cause was caused during transportation.

If it is a disease, it must be determined what disease it is and treated according to the instructions for that disease. If the naked eye cannot diagnose it, a sample must be taken for testing. Absolutely do not slaughter for food without test results.

In case the cause is definitely due to transportation, it is allowed to change the purpose of animal feed. In that case, in the veterinary hygiene treatment record, the veterinary staff must confirm according to form No. 05, Appendix 2 of Circular No. 09" - Ms. Binh said.
