A piece of pig bone stuck in a young man's throat

(Dan Tri) - While eating porridge, a young man in Hue accidentally swallowed a large piece of pig bone, threatening his life.

On January 6, a representative of Hue Central Hospital said that the unit's doctors had successfully performed surgery to remove a large foreign object in the esophagus, saving the life of a 26-year-old male patient.

Previously, Mr. LTV, residing in Xuan Phu ward, Thuan Hoa district, Hue city, accidentally swallowed a pig bone while eating porridge.

The patient was admitted to the hospital with severe pain in the throat, unable to eat or drink and had difficulty breathing.

Through clinical examination, doctors discovered a large piece of bone in the esophagus, chest of the patient. This foreign object has the potential to perforate the esophagus and seriously damage surrounding organs.

Doctors performed a rigid endoscopy to safely remove the sharp bone fragment, measuring 30x41mm.

Patient V.'s health condition has stabilized and is gradually recovering.
