Impersonating officials in primary school admissions, urgent notice from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City

Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced that recently, there has been a situation where some people impersonated admissions officers of the department, schools or admissions support teams to contact parents of students to collect personal information or provide false information about primary school admissions.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training affirmed that the department, schools, and admissions teams will not proactively call parents directly to discuss admissions for any reason.

All information on primary school admissions will be publicly announced on the official website at https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn and the school's website or sent in official written notice through the school.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training recommends that parents be especially vigilant when someone calls to request personal information of students or parents, especially bank account information, OTP codes or unofficial fees. If there are any questions about enrollment, parents should contact the school and homeroom teacher directly.

The Department notes that parents should only proactively contact the enrollment support phone numbers when necessary. The enrollment support staff will not proactively call parents.

In early May, as reported by Thanh Nien Newspaper, Hiep Binh High School, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City also sent an urgent notice to each parent of 12th grade students, warning that parents of 12th grade students at the school had received text messages/calls from strangers informing them that they needed to adjust their students' exam registration information by following the request to update a strange link... After logging in, parents lost money in their personal accounts.

Therefore, Hiep Binh High School recommends: Parents should not follow the requests of strangers. All information is communicated through the school's official channels and through homeroom teachers to parents and students directly. The school absolutely does not ask parents to provide personal information via calls or links of unknown origin.
