Thanh Nien Newspaper and Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology signed a cooperation agreement

At the conference “Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology and businesses in the new era: opportunities and challenges” held on the afternoon of May 16, Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology signed a cooperation agreement with Thanh Nien Newspaper and nearly 30 other businesses.

Accordingly, the memorandum of cooperation between UMT and Thanh Nien Newspaper has many contents on training and communication. Specifically, Thanh Nien Newspaper will introduce and prioritize inviting representatives of leaders, lecturers, and scientists of Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology to participate as speakers, giving professional opinions in seminars/talkshows/seminars/special topics/events and appropriate article content organized by the newspaper. Thanh Nien Newspaper will prioritize students of the school to attend appropriate seminars/talkshows/special topics/events, in which students can coordinate the organization, service, logistics, and communication work in major events of the newspaper as part of practical skills experience activities.

Students majoring in media/events/design, economics , technology/sports will also be placed in appropriate departments of the newspaper for internships.

Notably, before that, from May 8, students of the school's multimedia communications major had their first class at the editorial office in the News Assessment course program taught by Thanh Nien Newspaper.

At the signing ceremony, Dr. Huynh Ba Lan, principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Management and Technology, commented: "This is an extremely important and meaningful event, aiming to connect the school with the business community in the context of the world changing strongly in the digital age, and in Vietnam, focusing on developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation".

According to Dr. Lan, in that context, the relationship between universities and businesses is no longer simply a matter of cooperation and support, but needs to be elevated to a co-creation relationship, together building a sustainable development ecosystem, where students are trained closely following reality, businesses have high-quality human resources and universities will become centers of knowledge and innovation.

"These cooperation agreements will open up opportunities for students to study, intern, visit businesses, collaborate on projects and recruit while still in school. Through the companionship of businesses, students of the school will not only have the opportunity to 'learn - practice', but also practice skills and thinking to become global citizens," said Dr. Huynh Ba Lan.
