SHOULD I CHOOSE SUBJECT 2 WHEN REGISTERING FOR ENROLLMENT?

Regarding the admission process for kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools in the 2025-2026 school year, Mr. Nguyen Bao Quoc, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, said that it is necessary to ensure specific identification of admission subjects including: Subject 1 (students whose "current residence" is in the area and within the prescribed age) and subject 2 (students who are not in the actual residential area but are in special cases as prescribed).

In particular, for subject 2, the district and county admission steering committees issue criteria for recruiting students outside their residential area (students from out-of-area areas), clearly defining the order of priority for special cases, ensuring transparency, fairness, suitability to reality and publicity on the official information portal.

The Department of Education and Training requires parents to log in to the primary school admissions page at https://tuyensinhdaucap.hcm.edu.vn , select the district to submit their application and accurately determine the admission target within the prescribed time from May 15 to 5 p.m. on May 19.

Many parents of students ask if parents do not use the priority of subject 1 with "current residence" in the area but choose to register subject 2 and wait for admission consideration according to the place of study or according to the parents' wishes near the workplace for convenient pick-up and drop-off, is that okay?

The leader of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that the regulations on admission to grades 1 and 6 include 2 groups. However, in the case of group 2, parents need to carefully study the admission plan of the city and locality, and at the same time prepare sufficient evidence to update the online system for the admission process. The Departments of Education and Training are responsible for consulting, guiding the implementation process and answering questions, to ensure the rights of students. Priority regulations must be clearly stated in detail in the admission plan of each locality, ensuring transparency and publicity. Cases that are not in the priority category will be considered last, based on the remaining quota of the schools and the decision of the local primary admission steering committee.

HOW DO DISTRICTS AND COUNTIES RECRUIT OFFLINE?

Mr. Phan Si Dat, Head of the Department of Education and Training of Tan Phu District, said that for students in category 2, the school will only consider accepting students who have completed preschool and primary school in the district, have a parent working in the district, have a current residence according to VNeID in areas bordering Tan Phu District, are in special cases and have legitimate reasons.

Similarly, for subject 2, the Tan Binh District Primary Admissions Steering Committee will consider priority admission in order of specific cases of each area such as: Students whose father or mother works in the area; Students whose "current residence" according to VNeID is in the border areas between districts bordering Tan Binh District; Students who have transferred provinces; Students in specific cases of the locality.

In Go Vap District, in addition to the general conditions, students in category 2 for admission to grades 1 and 6 will be considered by the district's admissions steering committee between June 21 and 25.

In District 3, Mr. Pham Dang Khoa, Head of the Department of Education and Training, said that for first and sixth grade students whose current residence is not in this locality but who wish to study in District 3, the Department of Education and Training will consult with the district's primary enrollment steering committee to consider and resolve the matter. The leader of the Department of Education and Training of District 3 also said that the criteria for considering the order of priority are: Students whose father or mother is a civil servant or public employee working in organizations and enterprises in District 3; Students whose current residence according to VNeID is in the border area between District 3 and neighboring districts but not more than 1,000 m.

Mr. Pham Dang Khoa said that after allocating students according to the quota and scale ofeducational programs at primary and secondary schools for students in group 1, if there is still enrollment capacity, the Department of Education and Training will consider allocating students in group 2, based on priority criteria and combined with GIS digital maps.

The admission process for students in category 2 must ensure the following conditions: The school the student wants to study at must still have the capacity to accept them; Students must register for admission online on the city's admission system; Meet the priority criteria prescribed by the district's admission steering committee; Fully comply with the admission process, time and method prescribed by the city.

Admission to schools with special programs

From May 24 to 29, parents will register for admission on the city's admission portal to educational institutions implementing special programs, including the High-quality, advanced, regional and international integration program; Integrated English program according to Project 5695; French language enhancement program...

The Department of Education and Training stipulates that from May 30 to June 4, local education and training departments will review and announce enrollment results on the city's primary enrollment system.
