Students participate in the 6th grade admission survey to Binh Tho Secondary School (Thu Duc City) in 2024

The competition rate for grade 6 at Hoa Lu Secondary School is the highest.
According to statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, 3,536 students registered to participate in the 6th grade admission survey at 3 secondary schools: Tran Quoc Toan 1, Hoa Lu and Binh Tho.
Specifically, Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School has 1,236 students registered for the 6th grade admission survey. Meanwhile, this school has an enrollment target of 315 students. Thus, the competition ratio is about 1/4.
Binh Tho Secondary School has 1,094 registered students, the enrollment target is 280. Thus, the competition ratio is about 1/4.
Hoa Lu Secondary School has 1,203 students registered for the survey, the enrollment target is 245 students. Thus, the competition ratio is approximately 1/5. This is also the school with the highest competition ratio among the 3 secondary schools organizing the 6th grade survey.
The competition rate for grade 6 admission to these 3 schools in 2025 is higher than that of the 2024 admission period. Last year, a total of 2,837 students registered to participate in the 6th grade admission survey to 3 schools. Of which, Tran Quoc Toan 1 Secondary School (1,025 students registered/315 quotas, competition rate: 1/3.3); Hoa Lu Secondary School (1,116/385, competition rate: 1/2.9); Binh Tho Secondary School (696/280, competition rate: 1/2.5).
Survey content and structure
Regarding the structure and content of the 6th grade exam, according to the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, all students applying to 3 schools will take the aptitude test on May 24 for 90 minutes.
The survey consists of 2 parts:
- Multiple choice section: Students answer 20 multiple choice questions in English about their understanding of natural sciences , social sciences and common sense (30 minutes).
- Essay section (60 minutes) includes:
- English proficiency test: Reading and writing (candidates take the test in English).
- Test of mathematical ability and logical thinking (candidates take the test in Vietnamese).
- Test of reading comprehension and writing skills (candidates take the test in Vietnamese).
It is expected that on May 30, the Department of Education and Training of Thu Duc City will announce the survey scores and standard scores for grade 6 of the 3 above-mentioned secondary schools.
In case students have the same score, priority will be given in order: Students with English certificates from high to low level, students completing primary school program of high-quality, advanced, internationally integrated school model.
The results of the 6th grade survey are only valid for the school that registered for the survey and are not used to consider admission to the remaining 2 schools.
