The iPhone 17 Pro Max renders were taken from a video posted on the popular Russian YouTube channel Wylsacom. This will be the first time Apple has redesigned the rear camera cluster since the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max launched in 2019, when Apple placed the camera housing in the upper left corner of the back. Previously, the iPhone XS series had a camera design with the lens placed vertically in the left corner.

The current camera design of the iPhone Pro and Pro Max is largely unchanged from the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max to the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, sources suggest that this will change next year, with the titanium edges of the iPhone Pro models being replaced with aluminum, along with some areas of the back plate being replaced with this material.
Key features on iPhone 17 Pro Max
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to feature a 6.9-inch OLED display with a flexible refresh rate of 1 - 120 Hz. A recent leak also revealed that both the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be equipped with 12 GB of RAM, while the remaining versions will have 8 GB of RAM to support Apple Intelligence. Notably, the 2025 iPhone Pro models are said to have three 48 MP cameras on the back.
In terms of performance, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will be equipped with a 3nm A18 Pro chip. Initial information said that the A18 and A18 Pro processors will be manufactured using TSMC's 2nm technology, but to keep the cost reasonable, this chip is said to be manufactured on the third-generation 3nm process (N3P).
The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to launch in September 2025 alongside the iPhone 17, the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, and the iPhone 17 Pro. With about nine months left before the official launch, we can expect more renders and leaks in the coming months.
