In the first 6 months of this year, 1 million people were screened for diseases through the AI platform, detecting many chronic diseases early, of which the detection rate of signs of chronic kidney disease was 16.2% (compared to the general rate of 12% of the population).

Many cases of breast cancer, cervical cancer, cancer risks and other chronic diseases have been detected through cancer and non-communicable disease screening programs implemented by the Young Physicians Association nationwide.

The above results were announced by Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association Nguyen Huu Tu at the Executive Committee Conference of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association held on June 28.

At the conference, some opinions suggested that the Vietnam Young Physicians Association coordinate with partners to have programs to take care of the health of doctors and medical staff. A recent survey of 3,000 medical staff conducted by the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City recorded 97 cases of anxiety disorders, including those at a severe level.

The Ministry of Health also needs to have specific guidelines so that the list of health insurance drugs at the commune level can be expanded, in line with the disease model and especially necessary to help people access examination, treatment and medical care services conveniently.

According to Dr. Ha Anh Duc, Chairman of the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, Director of the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management (Ministry of Health), when implementing a two-level local government, the role of commune health will be enhanced, including family doctors; more services and a list of drugs will be paid commensurate with professional capacity.

The units of the Ministry of Health are building a list of diseases that can be examined and treated remotely and will soon implement a project of examining and treating remotely for 9 provinces after the merger, which will be the basis for widespread implementation; building prices for examining and treating remotely, which will be the basis for the health insurance fund to pay.

20,000 grassroots health workers are popularized with AI

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Vietnam Young Doctors Association will deploy nationwide the program "Young Doctors' Day following Uncle Ho's teachings, volunteering for community health".

The Young Doctors Association and Young Doctors Clubs of provinces and cities organized nearly 2,700 volunteer activities nationwide, with tens of thousands of members and young doctors participating, with more than 1.1 million people being examined, given medicine, and given gifts, with priority given to remote areas, disadvantaged groups, and families with meritorious services.

More than 10,000 social security gifts and medical equipment were given to students, poor households, policy families and medical facilities; home health care models for the elderly, the disabled and people with mobility difficulties were deployed in localities.

The Vietnam Young Physicians Association coordinated with other units to organize many blood, tissue and organ donation campaigns nationwide, attracting tens of thousands of registrations, contributing to meeting emergency and treatment needs.

Organize communication campaigns to prevent and combat non-communicable diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hypertension, cancer, etc.; about 1 million young people and people are counseled and educated about chronic diseases, reproductive health, pre-marital health, and mental health.
