Mazda CX-80 on sale for 1.85 billion in Malaysia, coming to Vietnam soon

Recently, Mazda has officially introduced the CX-80 SUV model in the Southeast Asian market, specifically Malaysia, with only the Skyactiv-G 2.5L PHEV AWD High Plus version.

Mazda Malaysia has officially launched and opened for sale the new 2026 Mazda CX-80 three-row SUV. In the Malaysian market, this model is only distributed in a single version, the CX-80 2.5L PHEV AWD High Plus.

This three-row SUV is the latest in Mazda’s “Large Product” line, sharing the Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture platform with its two-row sibling, the CX-60. The Mazda CX-80 has overall dimensions of 4,995 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, and 1,705 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,120 mm.

In terms of suspension, the 2026 Mazda CX-80 in Malaysia uses a double wishbone configuration in the front and a multi-link configuration in the rear. The braking system is a ventilated disc type on all four wheels, accompanied by an electric power steering wheel.

The car has a full LED light cluster with automatic LED headlights, LED positioning lights, and LED taillights. The Mazda CX-80 PHEV AWD High Plus wheel set is designed in 20-inch alloy with 235/50R20 tires. The car does not have a spare tire but uses an emergency patch kit.

The interior of the CX-80 is arranged with 6 seats with the middle row being a pair of business class seats with integrated heating, ventilation and electric reclining, with separate armrests. The driver's seat and front passenger seat are both 10-way electric adjustable, the driver's seat has additional position memory function and user personalization.

The seats are covered in brown Nappa leather, exclusive to the Malaysian market. The big difference is in the second row with two independent captain seats with heating, cooling, electric reclining and a center armrest. This row of seats can slide forward/back manually or fold quickly with a one-touch button to access the third row.

The car is equipped with a 12.3-inch central screen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, combined with a 12.3-inch digital clock cluster and a head-up display on the windshield. A 12-speaker Bose sound system, 6 USB-C ports, wireless charging and two 12V power outlets are equipped for the cabin and trunk.

The CX-80 version launched in Malaysia has a PHEV powertrain with a combination of a 2.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine (Skyactiv-G) with an electric motor for a total capacity of 328 horsepower and maximum torque of 500 Nm. This powertrain comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive system.

Power comes from a 17.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides a pure electric range of 65 km according to the NEDC standard. The system can be charged at 7.2 kW AC, completing a full charge in 2 hours 30 minutes.

Mazda said the CX-80 SUV is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 195 km/h, targeting customers who need a powerful yet fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly SUV.

The car is fully equipped with advanced safety technology including: Adaptive Cruise Control with stop and restart function, Cruise & Traffic Support, Smart Brake Support, Driver Distraction Warning and Monitoring, Lane Keeping and Lane Departure Warning, Front/Rear Collision Warning and Blind Spot Warning...

In the Malaysian market, the Mazda CX-80 Skyactiv-G 2.5L PHEV AWD High Plus version is priced at RM 296,610 (about VND 1.85 billion). The car is warranted for 5 years or 100,000 km, with free maintenance for 5 years.
