Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, artist Huu Luan boasted that he had just officially received a PhD in Cultural Management from the Vietnam Institute of Culture, Arts, Sports and Tourism.

In December 2024, he successfully defended his thesis on Management of public art units under the autonomous mechanism at the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Performing Arts and Cinema under the guidance of Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Minh Thai and Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Son, and was voted to pass by the entire Doctoral Thesis Evaluation Council at the facility.

The male artist is happy and proud to be recognized for his PhD degree. He considers studying and researching his mission; at the same time, he wants to contribute more to the cultural and artistic career of Ho Chi Minh City.

Artist Huu Luan became famous with many roles such as actor, director and MC. In the late 1990s, he was invited by Ho Chi Minh City People's Radio to host the program Selection of Good Voices . Later, he made his mark in the profession when he "hosted" the Golden Dragon program and the reformed opera competition Golden Rice .

Huu Luan is the former Director of the Center for Performing Arts and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City. His time working at the unit gave him valuable practical experience to complete his doctoral thesis.

Although he is a famous artist, Huu Luan's academic path was quite difficult. In 1998, he successfully defended his master's thesis in Culture at the Hanoi University of Culture.

In 2010, the male artist was suddenly revoked his master's degree by the Ministry of Education and Training because he lacked a regular university degree majoring in Stage Directing.

The incident caused great controversy in public opinion. In August of the same year, Huu Luan filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Education and Training at the Administrative Court - Ho Chi Minh City People's Court.

One month later, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a decision to recognize the graduation of the first specialized university course of the 1982-1985 school year, majoring in Stage Directing, for 7 students, including artist Huu Luan.
