Messenger's parent company has officially announced the ability to edit messages within 15 minutes of sending them. Users will be able to edit multiple times during this period, providing convenience in case the content needs to be adjusted.
Edited messages will be marked as “edited” to let the recipient know about the change. In case of dispute, the user has the right to “report” and the system will check the message history to resolve any disagreement.

For mobile users, simply long-press on the message and select “edit.” Meanwhile, on desktop browsers, the feature appears when you click on the three dots next to each message.
In addition to editing features, Meta also deploys end-to-end encryption by default on Messenger, enhancing security and ensuring the safety of users' conversations. Personal PIN codes help protect the content of messages from the moment we send them.
Not only that, Meta also introduced the "disappearing messages" feature that helps users automatically delete all conversation content after 24 hours, similar to the Telegram application. To activate, users just need to join an end-to-end encrypted chat and select the "secret chat" mode. At the top of the chat, click on the name of the person or group chat, then click on the temporary message and choose the time the message automatically disappears after reading.
In addition, Meta also brings other improvements such as the ability to double the speed of voice messages, along with improving the quality and interface of photos and videos sent via Messenger.
However, with over a billion users and 1.3 billion photos and videos processed every day, Meta admits that updating the new feature will take some time and cannot happen synchronously across all accounts.
Meta is constantly working to improve the user experience on Messenger, while ensuring safety and security in every online conversation.
