Currently, Toyota Innova Cross is being sold in Vietnam with two versions: Innova Cross V (gasoline) priced at 825 million VND and Innova Cross HEV (hybrid): priced at 1.005 billion VND. This price is considered to be beyond the reach of traditional customers who have chosen Innova E MT for service. Therefore, Toyota is preparing to launch a standard version with a lower price, expected to fluctuate around 750 - 755 million VND, which is considered a step to "fill the gap" in the MPV segment serving services. According to internal sources, the new version is likely to be called Innova Cross 2.0G, below the two currently sold versions, 2.0V and 2.0HEV.
Powering the Innova Cross 2.0G is likely to be a 2.0L petrol engine with 172 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque, similar to the current Innova Cross V. The engine is combined with an automatic transmission. Compared to the previous Innova E MT using a manual transmission, this is considered a valuable upgrade to help the car operate more smoothly in urban areas. As the “base” version, the Innova Cross 2.0G will be equipped with less equipment to optimize costs. The exterior of the car still uses LED headlights and taillights but removes the daytime running lights. The wheel size is reduced to 16 inches, lower than the 17-inch wheel on the 2.0V version and 18 inches on the hybrid 2.0HEV version. In the interior compartment, Innova Cross 2.0G is expected to be equipped with an analog clock cluster combined with a 4.2-inch TFT screen instead of a 7-inch digital screen. The steering wheel is not covered in leather and does not have paddle shifters, the driver's seat is mechanically adjusted instead of electrically adjusted.
The central entertainment screen is reduced in size to 8 inches, the trunk opens mechanically, the car only has a rear camera and also does not have a tire pressure warning system. High-end equipment such as sunroof, Toyota Safety Sense safety package, blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert will likely not appear on the 2.0G version. The “base” MT version of the Toyota Innova Cross 2026 in Vietnam is expected to keep an accessible price and be suitable for transportation business customers – the target group that created success for previous generations of Innova.
It is expected that the new standard version of Innova Cross will be launched in December 2025 and delivered to customers before Lunar New Year. With an expected selling price of over 7099 million VND, this small 7-seat MPV model is considered difficult to compete with rivals in the same segment such as Mítubishi Xpander or Suzuki XL7...
