Quang noodles ( Quang Nam ) recognized as national intangible heritage

Previously, on August 10, 2023, the People's Committee of Quang Nam province sent a document to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requesting to include the Quang noodle processing profession in Quang Nam province in the list of national intangible cultural heritage.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Nam province, the craft of making Quang noodles in this province converges the unique culinary values ​​of Quang. The dish is rustic but contains the historical formation process and the folk knowledge system of Quang Nam land. Quang noodles follow the footsteps of migrants on their journey to the open South, willing to accept any ingredients on the way to absorb, adapt, creating diversity and richness in culinary flavors. Therefore, the dish has many variations, can "please" all types of customers.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam, said that the inclusion of Quang noodle processing in the list of national intangible cultural heritage has affirmed the cultural value of folk knowledge. Thereby, promoting the work of preserving and promoting the value of Quang noodle culinary culture to attract tourists, develop tourism and the local economy.

At the APEC 2017 Conference held in Da Nang, Quang noodles were chosen as the dish in the banquet served to the heads of state attending the Conference. This partly demonstrated the culinary cultural values ​​of Quang noodles.
