(PLVN) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from around April 12, a cold air mass will affect our country. The weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cold, and some mountainous areas in the North will experience cold weather.

The Hydrometeorological Agency said that currently, in the North, a cold air mass is moving south.

It is forecasted that from April 12, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast region and some places in the Northwest and North Central regions, then affect other places in the Northwest, North Central regions and some places in the Central Central region. Inland, the wind will change direction to Northeast, gradually increasing to level 2-3, coastal areas to level 3-4, with some places gusting to level 6.

From the night of April 12, the weather in the North and North Central regions will turn cold, with some mountainous areas in the North experiencing cold weather; from the night of April 13-14, the night and morning will be cold. The lowest temperature during this cold spell in the North will generally be between 16-19 degrees Celsius, with some mountainous areas below 13 degrees Celsius; the North Central region will generally be between 17-20 degrees Celsius.

Hanoi area from the night of April 12, the weather will turn cold; from the night of April 13-14, the night and morning will be cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is commonly 17-19 degrees Celsius.

Due to the influence of cold air, from early morning on April 12, the Northeast region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally with moderate to heavy rain, and the rain will gradually decrease at night; from April 12 to April 13, the Northwest, North and North Central regions will have rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally with heavy to very heavy rain.

During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind; warning of the risk of localized heavy rain with high intensity (>50mm/06h).

At sea from noon and afternoon of April 12, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the wind will change direction to Northeast, gradually increasing to level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough seas, waves 1.5-2.5m high; from the evening and night of April 12, in the northern sea area of ​​the North East Sea, the wind will change direction to Northeast, gradually increasing to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves 1.5-2.5m high.

From the afternoon of April 13, the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai gradually increased the wind to level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas. Waves were 1.5-2.5m high.
