The North is about to welcome a cold spell

Around the beginning of next week, the North will welcome a cold front. Although it will strengthen slightly, the cold air will still cause the area to drop 3-4 degrees, the weather will be cool with showers.
The North is in the autumn days with mild weather, sunny in the afternoon, although the temperature sometimes reaches 34 degrees. This pattern will last until the end of the week, around the beginning of next week (October 1), the region will receive a new cold air wave.

This cold spell is weak, similar to the first spell of the season, so the temperature in the North only drops slightly, about 2-3 degrees during the day and drops further, 3-4 degrees at night, the weather turns cool and accompanied by thunderstorms.

Accordingly, around October 1-3, the highest temperature in Hanoi will be around 30-31 degrees; the lowest temperature will drop to 22-23 degrees. In Lang Son, one of the provinces often strongly affected by cold air, the highest temperature will drop to 27-28 degrees and the lowest will be around 18 degrees.

The Southern Hydrometeorological Station also said that around October 1, the continental cold high pressure will strengthen in the north of our country.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that cold air activity has gradually increased since October and has tended to increase in frequency and intensity since November.

Notably, widespread severe cold in the North is likely to occur in the second half of December (similar to the average of many years). In January-February 2025, severe cold will continue to occur widely.

The meteorological agency warns that it is necessary to be on guard against the possibility of severe cold spells lasting about 5-8 days, accompanied by frost and ice in the mountainous areas of the North.

In the immediate future, it is forecasted that in the next 1-2 days, the Northern region will have rain in some places, sunny in the afternoon.

The Central and Central Highlands regions also have showers and thunderstorms in some places in the late afternoon and night; sunny days.

In the Southern region, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening. In the late afternoon and night of September 25, there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places; sunny during the day.

Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

From the night of October 27 to October 5, there will continue to be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the North; from September 28 to October 1, there is a possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms.

In the Central region, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and at night, and sunny days. In the period from about October 1-2, there is a possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue.

The Central Highlands and the South maintain showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night in some places; sunny during the day.
