Dismissal of Mr. Bui Van Cuong as Secretary General of the National Assembly

Mr. Bui Van Cuong ceased to hold the positions of Secretary General of the National Assembly , member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, ceased to perform the duties of a deputy of the 15th National Assembly and retired according to his personal wishes.


This afternoon (October 25), continuing the 8th session, the National Assembly held a separate meeting on personnel work under its authority.

Accordingly, the National Assembly voted to pass Resolution No. 157/2024/QH15 dated October 25, 2024 on the dismissal of Mr. Bui Van Cuong from the position of Secretary General of the National Assembly, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee and termination of his duties as a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.

Mr. Bui Van Cuong ceased to hold the position of Secretary General of the National Assembly.

Mr. Bui Van Cuong ceased to hold the positions of Secretary General of the National Assembly, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee; ceased to perform the duties of a deputy of the 15th National Assembly; retired according to his personal wishes and enjoyed the regime and policies according to current regulations.

Mr. Bui Van Cuong was born in 1965, from Hai Duong . He is a doctor of maritime safety engineering, master of maritime safety, ship operations engineer, and bachelor of English.

Mr. Cuong is a member of the Party Central Committee, 11th (alternate), 12th, 13th; and a National Assembly delegate, 13th, 14th, 15th.

Mr. Bui Van Cuong was elected by the National Assembly to hold the position of Secretary General of the National Assembly in April 2021.

Previously, Mr. Cuong held the positions of Secretary of Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee; President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Deputy Secretary of Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee.
