At the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, Mitsubishi announced the official price of the all-new Destinator SUV for the Southeast Asian market. The 2026 Mitsubishi Destinator will come in three versions: GLS, Exceed and Ultimate. Destinator is the commercial version of the DST concept car that the company introduced in early June in Vietnam, positioned as a strategic SUV model specifically for the ASEAN market including Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, as well as South America, the Middle East and Africa - places where the demand for large multi-purpose vehicles is growing strongly.
This 7-seat SUV has overall dimensions of length x width x height of 4,680 x 1,840 x 1,780 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. This size is significantly larger than the Xforce and only slightly less than the Pajero Sport. Destinator has a “Gravitas - Dynamism” design style with a modern, aggressive appearance. The front of the car stands out with a three-layer honeycomb grille covered with transparent acrylic, high-mounted LED lights and a monolithic front bumper. The rear of the car is designed squarely with T-shaped LED taillights inspired by the spare tire of the Mitsubishi Pajero. The ground clearance of Mitsubishi Destinator 2026 is up to 214 mm combined with 18-inch alloy wheels, helping Destinator flexibly adapt to many types of terrain, especially in flooded conditions or bad road surfaces in Southeast Asian cities. Mitsubishi Destinator has a spacious, comfortable interior with a series of notable amenities, such as an electric panoramic sunroof, a multi-color interior lighting system with 64 color options, a symmetrically designed center console with a 12.3-inch touch screen and an 8-inch digital clock cluster.
This new 7-seat SUV also features a premium Yamaha Dynamic Sound system, providing a vibrant and deeply tuned sound experience, promising to meet the needs of young users or families who love comfort. For the second row, Mitsubishi offers a variety of amenities such as folding tables integrated into the front seatbacks, rear air conditioning controls, headrests for all positions and a center armrest. The third row is relatively comfortable – especially in terms of knee room – for those under 1.8m in height. The distance between the seat and the floor is quite good. Ceiling air vents and USB-A and USB-C charging ports are located in all rows of seats. The last row of seats folds in a 50:50 ratio, the second row of seats folds in a 60:40 ratio. The kick-down trunk feature will be available on the high-end version, but is included in an optional package (equivalent to about 47 million VND). Similar to the Xforce, the ADAS advanced driver assistance feature set is only available on the Ultimate version, including: adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning with lane change assist and rear cross traffic alert. The highest version will be equipped with 6 airbags and a 360-degree camera, the lower versions have 4 airbags and a rear camera.
The suspension system on the Destinator is also specially tuned to suit the operating characteristics of the Southeast Asian region, which has many bad roads, potholes or mixed terrain. Thanks to that, the car brings a smooth and stable feeling, especially when traveling with a full load of 7 passengers. Under the hood, the Mitsubishi Destinator is equipped with a 1.5L MIVEC Turbo gasoline engine, producing 163 horsepower and 250 Nm of maximum torque, combined with a CVT gearbox and front-wheel drive. In addition to the 4 driving modes similar to the Xforce: Normal/Gravel/Mud/Wet, the Destinator also has an Asphalt mode added. The price of Mitsubishi Destinator 2026 for 3 versions GLS, Exceed and Ultimate in Indonesia after conversion is 616 million, 648 million and 744 million VND respectively. It is expected that Mitsubishi Destinator will soon be introduced and available to users in Vietnam in the near future.
