In addition to promoting the inheritance and replication of the precious remedies of the Great Physician, Ha Tinh has paid attention to preserving and promoting the heritage values of Hai Thuong Lan Ong, especially promoting the values of medical ethics and medical skills of the Great Physician.

Director of Ha Tinh Department of Health Nguyen Minh Duc said that promoting the medical ethics of the Great Physician along with implementing the medical ethics of President Ho Chi Minh, over the years, the Ha Tinh Health sector has always been "united", "honest", "loving the sick", concretizing the teachings of the Great Physician and Uncle Ho into practical and creative actions.

Apply and implement well the four basic principles of medical ethics including: Respecting the patient's right to self-determination, having compassion; not causing harm to the patient; ensuring fairness and the four basic principles of medicine which are: Putting the patient's interests first, practicing skills and improving knowledge, self-regulation, and being responsible to society.

“The industry has effectively implemented the Plan “Innovating service style and attitude towards people's satisfaction” associated with building ethical standards for Ha Tinh medical staff according to the criteria of “three constructions, three resistances and three knowledges” and launched an emulation movement.

This is also one of the core reasons for the Ha Tinh Health sector to truly create solidarity, unity, and promote the spirit of democracy in construction and development. In the blood donation movement alone in the past 5 years, in Ha Tinh, there have been more than 1,000 medical staff donating blood to save patients' lives, including dozens of people donating blood 5 times or more.

In parallel with studying and promoting the medical heritage of the Great Physician, to practically celebrate the 300th anniversary of the birth of the Great Physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong - Le Huu Trac, the Ha Tinh Health sector has directed the construction and development of the Hai Thuong Lan Ong cultural space at medical facilities, including the erection of a statue of Hai Thuong Lan Ong in the flower garden in the medical facility; building a traditional room/memorial room with additional statues and portraits of Hai Thuong Lan Ong, displaying documents, works, and heritage, and designing, printing, and mounting a stele with the 9 medical teachings, aphorisms, and admonitions of the Great Physician.

Hai Thuong Lan Ong Cultural Space is a tribute to the great contributions and achievements of the Great Physician, a place to preserve and spread the heritage value of the Great Physician, and a place to educate and foster the national historical tradition, arousing pride in the homeland and country. Every medical staff member who comes to burn incense, visit and study at Hai Thuong Lan Ong Cultural Space is more imbued with the medical ethics, medical philosophy and medical techniques of the Great Physician, from which to flexibly and creatively apply them to practical situations in their practice.

Activities to build and develop Hai Thuong Lan Ong cultural space have been implemented by many medical facilities in the province in conjunction with building green-clean-beautiful medical facilities.

Meritorious physician, Specialist Doctor I Bui Thi Mai Huong, Director of Ha Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital, said that, performing the role of a specialized hospital, in recent times, Ha Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital has applied and combined modern medicine in medical examination and treatment but still maintained and promoted the strengths of traditional medicine in treatment; developed many traditional medicine prescriptions using available medicinal herbs in the area; thereby enriching valuable prescriptions in treating diseases in order to well implement the motto "Nam Duoc Tri Nam Nhan".

According to statistics, on average each year the hospital treats over 10,000 inpatients, many of whom are the hospital's strengths such as: Treatment of sequelae of cerebrovascular accidents, paralysis due to other causes, bone and joint diseases, peripheral nerves...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Dao, 78 years old (living in Da Lat) when visiting her family in her hometown, was introduced by her younger brother to treat bone and joint diseases at Ha Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital. Ms. Dao shared: Up to now, after 2 courses of 25 days of treatment using traditional medicine methods here, her health has improved a lot. The hospital is not only clean, with good expertise but also the service attitude is very dedicated, worthy of the title "the doctor is a kind mother".

According to the representative of Ha Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital, with the motto "Developing traditional medicine and pharmacy combined with modern medicine", in recent years, Ha Tinh province has paid attention to investing in new construction and upgrading of infrastructure and medical equipment to meet the needs and improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for the people. The hospital has been announced by the Drug Administration Department to meet the standards for processing and preparing traditional medicinal herbs and traditional medicines according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health.

Inheriting the career of Hai Thuong Lan Ong, the Hospital has used more than 150 medicinal herbs, prepared dozens of medicinal recipes, and produced medicines in the form of soft pills, tea bags, powdered medicines, steam powdered medicines, etc.

The hospital also cooperates with Ha Tinh Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company in researching, formulating and applying new products in the treatment of patients with sequelae of cerebrovascular accidents, paralysis due to various causes, bone and joint diseases, and peripheral nerves. Many ancient remedies are used effectively such as Luc vi, Bat vi, Bo trung ich khi, Thien ma cau dang am, Doc hoat tang ki sinh, etc.

According to the Director of Ha Tinh Department of Health Nguyen Minh Duc, in addition to Ha Tinh Traditional Medicine Hospital, a grade II specialized hospital with 160 beds, the traditional medicine examination and treatment system in Ha Tinh province has been consolidated and developed from the provincial to the communal level.

The province currently has 17 hospitals/medical centers with traditional medicine departments; 79 private traditional medicine clinics, 10 private general clinics with traditional medicine departments, 31 private traditional medicine finished drug trading establishments; at the commune level, 168/216 medical stations provide examination and treatment using traditional medicine. The total number of medical staff in the field of traditional medicine examination and treatment is 1,172 people, including 15 doctors with specialist level II, 76 masters/specialists with specialist level I, 174 doctors, 514 members of the Oriental Medicine Association, ensuring sufficient capacity and professional qualifications to meet the needs of examination and treatment of traditional medicine for the people.

Through research, it is known that in Ha Tinh province, there are currently 13/13 district-level localities planning to develop medicinal plant growing areas with more than 1,000 hectares to grow medicinal plants suitable for the climate and soil such as Kim tien thao, Moc hoa trang, Sam bo chinh, Ma de, Ich mau, Diep ha chau, Xa can, ...; medical stations all have medicinal herb gardens with over 40 medicinal plants to treat common diseases according to regulations of the Ministry of Health.

In Huong Son district, the maternal hometown of Hai Thuong Lan Ong, a tourism development project "Health care associated with the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong - Le Huu Trac - World cultural celebrity" has been built into a unique local tourism product.

The district has invested in and developed medicinal herb gardens in the Hai Thuong Lan Ong Le Huu Trac relic complex (church, tomb and monument); recreated the space of the medical clinic, medicine processing, medicine cutting, medicine dispensing; introduced the remedies of Hai Thuong Lan Ong; formed a number of oriental medicine clinics, service providers combined with health care tourism, medical examination and treatment according to the remedies of Hai Thuong Lan Ong.

Hai Thuong Lan Ong Festival in Huong Son has become an attractive spiritual and cultural event attracting tourists every spring.

Director of Ha Tinh Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (HADIPHAR) Le Quoc Khanh said that with a traditional medicine factory that meets GMP-WHO, GLP, GSP standards, every year, the Company has signed cooperation agreements with localities in the province to deploy planting and purchasing medicinal herbs to prepare products. Thanks to the source of raw materials grown and harvested locally according to strict GACP-WHO standards and produced on modern production lines, many traditional medicine products of Ha Tinh are highly appreciated for their quality, welcomed by the market inside and outside the province, some products are exported abroad; typically: Moc hoa trang, Hoan xich huong, Thong phe HADIPHAR lozenges, Ich tri HADIPHAR, Sam nhung capsules, Phong te thap HT,.... in which Moc hoa trang, Hoan Xich Huong, Phalintop and Sirnakarang are recognized by the Ministry of Health as medicinal products with the title "Star of Vietnamese Medicine".

Inheriting the traditional remedies of the great physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong, in recent years, the Ha Tinh Oriental Medicine Association has mobilized its members to collect, research, and apply many good remedies and precious medicinal plants, which are widely used by the people and have achieved high efficiency, typically the remedies: Ngan Kieu San Gia Giam, Sai Ho So Can Thang Gia Giam, Tieu Giao Thang Gia Giam, Kinh Phong Bai Doc San Gia Giam. In particular, the remedy "Ngan Kieu San Gia Giam" has effectively treated more than 20,000 COVID-19 patients... contributing significantly to the recovery process and health care for people inside and outside Ha Tinh.
