The film achieved a record in both criteria: More than 8.1 million people went to the cinema and the revenue exceeded the milestone of 710 billion VND, before the film left the cinema after 39 days of showing. Previously, in 2024, the film "Mai" by director Tran Thanh achieved a record of selling 6.5 million tickets after 41 days of showing, with a revenue of 520 billion VND.

“Red Rain” also created a strong social impact with many opposing views on social networks. Taking advantage of that, some outside elements expressed extreme and unacceptable opinions. However, the film touched the hearts of viewers. On the fanpage, a viewer wrote: “Thank you to the director, screenwriter and film crew for bringing a work on the theme of war with so much emotion. There were times when my throat was bitter when witnessing the sacrifice of each character.” Another viewer felt: “The work transcended the boundaries of a film, becoming a memory of many generations. I believe “Red Rain” will live forever in the minds of viewers.”
A responsible politician, at the age of 75, still travels from North to South, and is constantly involved in social activities. That is the former Minister of Information and Communications Le Doan Hop. He was originally a soldier of the 5th Division, and was an officer of the Division's Propaganda Department during the resistance war against the US to save the country. He used a vivid example from his own combat unit to discuss the film "Red Rain" when citing official documents of the 5th Division, the unit assigned to attack and liberate Loc Ninh town, opening the door for our army to enter An Loc, besieging Saigon city in the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign in the spring of 1975. In this battle, the division sacrificed 218 people. The soldiers who sacrificed were buried in orderly rows of Loc Ninh rubber plantations, to facilitate future searches.
The battle was fierce, the sight of comrades dying and dying was terrible. But one thing remained constant: the heroic Vietnamese people achieved final victory, forcing the enemy to surrender unconditionally; affirming the will and mettle of the Vietnamese people in the struggle for independence and freedom.
“Red Rain”, a film that has touched the hearts of millions of audiences, is aiming to participate in the preliminary round of the "Best International Film" category at the 98th Oscars in 2026.
