Highly competitive industry that does not consider academic records

In which, with the method of using high school learning results (reviewing transcripts), instead of considering admission for all majors like previous years, in 2026 the school will only consider transcripts limited to a number of majors such as: Preschool education, physical education, civic education, computer pedagogy, information technology, materials science, sports management, Vietnamese studies, educational studies (expected), political economy (expected).

So this year, the majors that do not consider transcripts include: Primary education , math education, physics education, chemistry education, biology education, literature education, history education, history - geography education, natural science education, English education, national defense - security education...

Previously in September, at the Higher Education Conference, the Ministry of Education and Training sought delegates' opinions on whether to remove or retain the high school transcript admission process.

The Ministry of Education and Training has proposed two options: to abolish or continue to consider academic records. Statistics from the Ministry also show that in 2025, the admission method based on academic records will account for 42.4%, admission based on high school graduation exam scores will account for 39.1%, and the rest will be other methods.

During admission seasons, many schools have allocated more quotas for the method of using high school transcripts than the method of using graduation exam results. This has caused many conflicting opinions.

Among them, there are opinions that the admission method based on academic records is a reason for the negative situation of "beautifying academic records".

Eliminate 3 competency assessment exams

With the method of considering the capacity assessment test scores, this year the school only considers admission for all majors with candidates participating in the 2026 independent exam organized by Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 and the 2026 independent exam organized by Ho Chi Minh City Pedagogical University.

Thus, compared to last year, in 2026 the school has stopped considering admission based on the results of 3 separate exams, including: Hanoi National University's Competency Assessment Exam, Ho Chi Minh City National University's Competency Assessment Exam, and Hanoi Pedagogical University's Competency Assessment Exam.

In addition to the above admission methods, this year Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 continues to consider direct admission, priority admission according to the regulations of the Ministry; consider high school graduation exam scores; some special majors can consider combined aptitude test scores.

Hanoi Pedagogical University 2 notes that the above admission methods will be updated when there are guidelines for admission in 2026 from the Ministry of Education and Training.

Last year, Hanoi Pedagogical University 2's benchmark score ranged from 20.25 to 28.52, with literature education having the highest score and sports management having the lowest.

Next to literature pedagogy is history pedagogy with 28.31 points, history-geography pedagogy with 28.03 points. Many other majors have standard scores from 24 to 26 points.
