On November 6, at the conference summarizing the Admissions and Career Guidance Program in 2025, experts and managers expressed their wish and support for Tuoi Tre newspaper in continuing to organize the Admissions and Career Guidance Program in 2026 with many new features.

As planned in 2026, Tuoi Tre will continue to maintain the programs and festivals of Admissions and Career Guidance for high school students, and the Festival of Confidence in Grade 10 for Grade 9 students as implemented in past years.

The series of programs and festivals aim to equip students and parents with accurate information related to regulations on exams, admissions, and appropriate choices of majors, schools, and groups.

In addition, it will create a space for consultation and direct dialogue between students, parents, schools, experts, and businesses to understand career trends, future job markets, and provide advice to help 9th grade students reduce exam pressure when transferring levels.

In 2026, it is expected that programs and festivals will also support students to get acquainted with exam technology, aiming to meet the requirements of computer-based exams and support test-taking skills in a digital environment.

Tuoi Tre also increased multi-channel communication: online, livestream, chatbot, and published a Career Guidance Handbook so that students in remote areas can still access quality information.

It is expected that the 2026 programs and festivals will be implemented in the first phase from January 2026 to March 2026 and the second phase in July 2026 (after candidates have their high school graduation exam scores). There may be expansion to some new localities.

Commenting on the program, Colonel Do Thanh Tam, Secretary of the Military Recruitment Board ( Ministry of National Defense ), said that he has participated in the program for the past 20 years and can confirm that there is no similar program that is more effective and successful than the programs and festivals organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper.

Colonel Do Thanh Tam said that the program has connected military schools with candidates very well, a lot of information about military schools is more open, spread more widely, and reaches students more deeply.

The Ministry of Education and Training is listening to opinions on whether or not to use the admission method based on academic records.

Speaking at the conference, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Thao, Director of the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training) said that the annual enrollment problem has a great impact on a number of students, parents and people. Therefore, enrollment counseling and career guidance for students is always necessary.

Professor Thao said the ministry has accelerated the announcement of the 2026 enrollment plan to early November 2025. It is expected that the ministry will have information guiding the 2026 enrollment in January 2026.

Regarding the adjustments in the 2026 admission regulations, Professor Thao shared: Up to this point, the ministry is still listening to opinions on whether or not to use the admission method based on academic records, and how to adjust the regulations to make it reasonable if this admission method continues to be used.

Whether or not to limit the number of admission applications is also an issue that needs to be further listened to. Opinions are currently leaning towards limiting the number of applications to reduce the number of applications registered by each candidate.

"If there are any adjustments in 2026, they will ensure that they do not cause major disruptions. The adjustments are mainly aimed at ensuring better rights and convenience for candidates," said Mr. Thao.

Career guidance should come before admissions counseling.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung, Director of the Academy of Finance, shared that not only students and parents but also training institutions "benefit" a lot from the program. Specifically, there are more channels to introduce and advise learners to choose suitable majors and schools, bringing training institutions closer to learners.

Giving advice on how to do it, Associate Professor Tung said that we should consider putting "career guidance" before "admissions consulting", because we need to provide career guidance first, early career guidance, then advice on choosing a school and major.

Mr. Tung also hopes that programs and festivals pay more attention to reaching students in disadvantaged areas with a lack of information. In addition, it is necessary to run stronger communication channels for future career orientation.

Master Phung Quan (University of Natural Sciences - VNU-HCM) expressed his wish that consulting should pay more attention to important professions that are in need of quality human resources so that candidates do not just flock to "hot" professions.

Giving direct comments on the 2026 program, Mr. Phung Quan said that the 2026 high school graduation exam is expected to be held earlier, and school exams can also be pushed earlier, so the organization of the Admissions and Career Counseling program should be considered to push it earlier so that students have time to attend, consider, and choose.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung, Deputy Head of the Department of Continuing and Professional Education (Hanoi Department of Education and Training) shared: Right from the time students enter grade 10, the time when students have to choose their subject combinations, it is better for them to receive career counseling early. Next, career counseling can be implemented in many forms for students in grades 10, 11, and 12.

Choose a highlight each year

Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duy Hai, Head of Admissions and Career Guidance Department (Hanoi University of Science and Technology) suggested that each admissions counseling season should choose "highlights". For example, in 2025, focus on changes in regulations on exams and admissions.

In 2026, it may be appropriate to highlight areas for students to experience computer-based testing to expose them to the testing format that will be used in the future.

Mr. Hai also said that at big festivals, the consulting area should be arranged by school group so that candidates and parents can easily find the school they want to learn about and not cause conflicts in different activities of training facilities.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son, Vice Principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) also proposed to increase counseling activities for 10th grade students, not only organizing separate festivals such as the Confidence in Entering 10th Grade Festival but also combining them into programs and Career Counseling and Admissions Days by arranging separate counseling areas for 10th grade students.

2025: 23 programs and festivals impacting tens of thousands of students and parents

In 2025, Tuoi Tre Newspaper coordinated with the Department of Higher Education (Ministry of Education and Training), Departments of Education and Training, higher education and general education institutions in a number of localities across the country to organize 23 programs and festivals.

On average, each Admissions and Career Counseling program attracts 3,000-4,000 students and many parents; each festival attracts about 10,000-20,000 students and parents to attend.

The programs and festivals also attract the attention and cooperation of many universities and high schools, helping to make the programs and festivals more colorful and meet diverse and practical needs.
