On the afternoon of November 6, the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City and the Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation (HFF) met and encouraged the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club before participating in the group stage of the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Women's.
In addition to the lucky money, the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club also received a support of 100 million VND from Becamex Group and 100 million VND from OpenLive to compete in the tournament.
In preparation for the prestigious continental tournament, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club has hired 6 foreign players, including 2 new foreign players compared to last season: center back Gorman Chloe (USA) and left back Ouni Samia (Tunisia).
In addition, coach Doan Thi Kim Chi's team also has two new additions: goalkeeper Tran Thi Kim Thanh and striker Le Hoai Luong. Both were former members of the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club before joining the Thai Nguyen T&T Women's Club.

The presence of the number 1 goalkeeper of the Vietnamese women's team, Kim Thanh, will clearly help the Ho Chi Minh City women's club gain more confidence in achieving success in the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League for women.
Le Hoai Luong is also an ideal addition to the attack when Huynh Nhu is old and has difficulty plowing throughout the match. Hoai Luong and Huynh Nhu were also the ones who scored to help the HCMC Women's Club beat the Vietnam Women's Team 2-1 in the return friendly match on November 4 in Hanoi .
In addition, foreign player - center back Aubrey Goodwill also scored in the first leg friendly match against the Vietnamese women's team on November 1, also in Hanoi.
These are two valuable friendly matches, helping Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club perfect its squad and tactics before entering the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League Women's.
Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club in Group A will meet Stallion Laguna (Philippines, November 13), Lion City Sailors (Singapore, November 16), Melbourne City (Australia, November 19) at Thong Nhat Stadium. The top two teams in each group and the two third-placed teams with the best results in the three groups will qualify for the quarter-finals.
Coach Doan Thi Kim Chi shared: "Based on the team's situation, if we are lacking any position, we try to add foreign and domestic players to compete well. Besides, we also need to have a good force to pass the group stage when this year's opponents are all very strong. Our immediate goal is to pass the group stage and then think about the next step."
Last season, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club made history by reaching the semi-finals and losing 0-2 to host Wuhan Jiangda (China), the team that later won the championship.
