On November 12, Motorola announced its return to the smartphone race in Vietnam with a new, youthful look.
Accordingly, the brand reappears with 5 new smartphone products, including Motorola Razr 60, Motorola Edge 60 Fusion, Moto G86 Power 5G, Moto G35 5G and Moto G60 Power. The selling prices of the products range from low-cost (VND 2.89 million) to high-end (VND 18.99 million).
The Motorola Razr 60 product still retains the familiar clamshell folding style of the famous Razr line previously in Vietnam, but is refined with a slimmer appearance and higher quality finishing materials.
“The launch event is also an important milestone in the company's development strategy in Asia and especially in Vietnam, a young, dynamic market and the center of the Lifestyle Tech vision,” said Mr. Mahesh Alanthat, Senior Business Director of Motorola Asia Pacific .
In late 2011, Motorola entered the Vietnamese market, but was later acquired by Lenovo Group in 2014. By 2016, Lenovo announced the merger of brands and products sold under the name "Moto by Lenovo".
The merger has reduced the recognition of the original Motorola brand in Vietnam. At the same time, the increasingly fierce competition in the smartphone market in Vietnam has caused the Motorola name to almost disappear.
Motorola was the first company to launch a mobile phone.
Motorola was founded in 1928 in the US, and was the first company to launch a mobile phone in the world in 1983. At its peak, Motorola attracted the attention of many users with its Razr phone models with a flip-style design and "super thin" at that time.
