MU can make Rashford's dream of going to Barca broken

Marcus Rashford dreams of playing for Barcelona this summer, but MU is likely to disappoint him due to financial constraints.

Both Rashford and MU agreed that it was time for both sides to "go their separate ways" after a turbulent period. However, the problem arose when Rashford only wanted to go to Barca, while the "Red Devils" did not easily accept financial concessions.

After regaining form for Aston Villa with 4 goals and 6 assists in 17 games, Rashford convinced Barca's board to open negotiations. His representative is said to have met with the Catalan club to discuss the transfer.

However, the deal has encountered many obstacles. Rashford's salary of 325,000 pounds/week is too much for Barca in the context that the club is still suffocated by financial regulations in La Liga. Barca is also preparing to spend 50 million pounds to bring Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao.

The Times revealed that MU wanted to collect 40 million pounds, while Barca only wanted to ask for Rashford on loan. The "Red Devils" believe that what Rashford showed at Aston Villa is enough to value him at that level, and do not accept letting the player leave on loan.

However, the Old Trafford club can make concessions if Barca agrees to pay the entire salary in the contract, helping MU save about 17 million pounds/year. Until the summer transfer market closes (September 1), both sides still have plenty of time to negotiate.

In the meantime, Rashford is still training on his own to maintain his fitness. When asked if he would like to play with prodigy Lamine Yamal, he admitted: "Absolutely. Who wouldn't want to play with the best players in the world ? Let's see what happens."
