In Soc Trang ward and Phu Loi ward, there are 6 water supply plants/stations exploiting from 24 underground water wells and 1 surface water plant located in An Nghiep Industrial Park. However, the existing wells are gradually becoming saline, the dynamic water level is getting lower and lower, the water source's return capacity is slow, the reserves are not guaranteed for exploitation and the water source's quality is getting worse. The surface water source in the area is saline, the exploitable water source is located more than 20km away and there is no planning for the construction of the plant; the current exploitation locations have significantly reduced flow, the proposed additional projects have not been granted investment and construction permits.
