Efforts to complete insurance targets

From now until the end of the year, localities in Can Tho City will accelerate the completion of targets on voluntary social insurance (SI) and health insurance (HI). The Steering Committee for the implementation of SI and HI policies (SC) of communes and wards has been closely directing and proposing many measures to reach the target soon.

In Long My ward, as of September 30, 1,215/1,509 people participated in voluntary social insurance, reaching 80.52% of the assigned target; the health insurance coverage rate was 88.25% of the population, reaching 92.89% of the target... Mr. Nguyen Van Chi, Vice Chairman of Long My ward People's Committee, said: "Long My ward People's Committee is continuing to direct Long My Social Insurance to coordinate with departments, divisions, and professionals to report monthly data, closely following the actual situation in the locality to deploy solutions, remove difficulties and obstacles of hamlets and areas to achieve the targets assigned by the City People's Committee. At the same time, continue to strengthen the organization of customer communication conferences, direct dialogue conferences to mobilize people to participate in voluntary social insurance and health insurance".

Currently, O Mon ward has only achieved 50.89% of the voluntary social insurance target and 80.09% of the health insurance coverage rate, so it must be more drastic. The ward's Steering Committee is promoting propaganda with many rich, close, easy-to-understand forms, focusing on the practical benefits of participating in voluntary social insurance and family health insurance. The propaganda emphasizes the rights to maternity, retirement, and death benefits; with a health insurance card, when sick, one can rest assured to receive treatment.

Mr. Tran Minh Khiet, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of O Mon Ward, said: "We focus on promoting the role of political -social organizations, unions, and regions in coordinating mobilization; requiring leaders, party cell secretaries, and regional heads to set an example and directly propagate to each business household; improve the responsibility and mobilization skills of the collection agency staff and collaborators."

Identifying specific practical difficulties, My Tu commune has appropriate solutions such as promoting voluntary social insurance policies on mass media and directly to each resident's house; hamlets create Zalo groups to exchange, reflect difficulties and share good practices to work together to achieve targets.

“The Commune People's Committee also assigned each hamlet to have one collaborator to collect and implement social insurance policies in the area. It is recommended that the grassroots social insurance train and guide hamlet collaborators to grasp social insurance policies to answer questions, helping people see the long-term benefits and participate more and more” - Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of My Tu commune, informed.

At the recent online conference on the results of implementing social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance policies in the first 9 months of the year and deploying tasks for the last months of 2025, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee, requested the Steering Committees at all levels to continue to innovate propaganda forms in a suitable direction, promote administrative reform and apply information technology; strengthen solutions to effectively implement policies and laws on social insurance, health insurance and unemployment insurance. At the same time, regularly inspect, monitor and replicate good models and practices of localities that do well in social insurance and health insurance work and focus on guiding and supporting to remove difficulties for localities with low implementation rates.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep also requested the city's Social Insurance to proactively coordinate with departments, branches, sectors, socio-political organizations of the city and the People's Committees at the commune level to properly manage social insurance and health insurance participants, along with promptly implementing the directives issued by the City Party Committee and People's Committee...

As of September 30, Can Tho City had more than 75,600 people participating in voluntary social insurance; more than 2.94 million people participating in health insurance. To complete the assigned target for 2025, the city must exploit more than 43,000 more people participating in voluntary social insurance and more than 154,000 people participating in health insurance.
