Mr. Do Ha Nam, Vice President of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association, said he had just returned from Europe – Vietnam’s largest coffee import market, accounting for more than 40% of the market share. Currently, traders here buy very little and require high discounts, from 50 to 150 USD/ton, while roasters still buy regularly and require immediate delivery.
This phenomenon shows that roasters believe that coffee supply is still abundant and can be purchased at any time without having to stockpile. However, the reason may come from the high coffee prices, which make them not have enough capital to buy and store raw materials for long-term production.
Experts predict that coffee prices may continue to increase slightly by 2-5% next week if supply does not improve. But if favorable weather helps production recover in Brazil and Vietnam, coffee prices may stagnate or decrease slightly.
Overall, coffee prices remain positive thanks to strong demand and low inventories. Coffee growers and exporters should closely monitor the market and take advantage of high prices to achieve the best results in the final months of the year.
Update world coffee prices
At the close of trading on October 25, the price of the online Robusta coffee contract for November 2025 delivery on the London Stock Exchange increased by 0.37% (17 USD/ton) compared to the previous trading session, to 4571 USD/ton. The contract for January 2026 delivery increased by 0.8% (36 USD/ton), reaching 4557 USD/ton.

Similarly, on the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee futures for December 2025 delivery fell 1.73% (7.15 US cents/lb) compared to the previous session, to 403 US cents/lb. The contract for March 2026 delivery fell another 1.71% (6.7 US cents/lb), reaching 383.05 US cents/lb.

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecasts global coffee production in the 2025/26 crop year to reach a record 178.7 million bags, up 4.3 million bags from the previous crop year. Vietnam is expected to increase by about 10%, while global consumption will reach 169.4 million bags, indicating that supply still slightly exceeds demand.
According to the International Coffee Organization (ICO), Vietnam surpassed Brazil to become the world's largest exporter of instant coffee in August 2025 with 310,000 bags, equivalent to 18,600 tons shipped. This achievement affirms the increasingly high position of Vietnamese coffee in the international market.
The global instant coffee market share also increased to 12.4% in the 11 months of the 2024/25 crop year, up from 11.5% in the same period last year. This increase shows that the trend of convenient coffee consumption is growing strongly in many markets.
In recent years, many Vietnamese enterprises have invested in expanding instant coffee processing plants to increase product value. Modern technology has significantly improved coffee quality, creating a competitive advantage and reducing dependence on raw coffee exports.
